Throne Room, Olympus
"Perseus Jackson you are here in a trial as there is evidence provided that you help Gaia in the giant war." Zeus thundered. Ever the drama queen. I stood silent and scan the whole throne room. Seeing Annabeth with the son of Zeus broke my heart. After all, I did she still left. Left me for a good for nothing. I suppose what Lady Artemis was correct. Loyalty and hubris don't go hand in hand. How foolish of me to not heed her words. Perhaps I wouldn't be here. Sighing I shook my head and look up at the king of gods. Saying nothing for I know they wouldn't believe me anyway. Zeus had always wanted me to be removed, gone. A threat to his rule. Sometimes I wonder how Olympus is still standing. Surely someone would have tried to rebel, someone who Zeus shouldn't have offended but did so anyway. I refuse to believe that it hadn't happened before someone must be controlling things in the shadows. Someone who influences Zeus, the way he behaves. I sneered at the thought. Can't wait to see his face when it was revealed that someone was controlling him. Although maybe I would be gone before that. Wait, no no he would make me immortal and throw me to Tartarus just like the Titans and others who have offended him. Hahaha. I suppose my previous belief of monsters, giants, Titans are too stupid and impatient is correct. Why plan their downfall when they are already heading towards it. Perhaps Kronos would have won had he be more patient after all he had been scheming for centuries and yet his impatience cause him to act early. He should have waited, wait as the Gods children turn bitter and hate their parents, wait for me to die. But then I suppose he hasn't expected me to be able to kill him. No one does. Just the foolish love-struck boy trying to impress a girl.
3rd POV
The gods and demigods watch as the child of Poseidon no ex-child of Poseidon sneered then start to laugh. Causing a smirk to appear in Liam's face thinking his plan had worked. Not only did he get the title of being the strongest demigod he also got a beautiful and smart girlfriend. Unfortunately, Zeus thought that Percy was laughing at him.
"Jackson!" he roared. Which seems to snap Percy out of his laugh.
"oh dear I must have laughed out loud." he said frowning. Before shrugging then go back to looking around the throne room. Furious at being ignored Zeus wanted to kill him but held back smiling inwardly. Let's see if you dare disrespect me once you hear of your punishment.
"For your crimes against Olympus, the council has decided to sentence you to Tartarus and make you immortal so you can suffer for eternity." Zeus thundered. Percy secretly rolled his eyes at him. How boring. But then I suppose Zeus had always been quaint? Percy frowned before thinking again what's the word again? It's on the tip of my tongue. Percy frowned harder while hiding his disdain. Before shrugging giving up and asked
"who voted against this?"
"That would be me, nephew, along with Apollo, Hestia, Aphrodite, and Hephaestus. With Artemis staying neutral." Hades replied with a hint of sorrow hidden in his eyes. Artemis looking indifferent, Apollo mouthed sorry while Hestia gave him a sad smile. Percy nodded and turn to Zeus expectedly. When nothing happened he let out an exasperated sigh.
" Hello? Earth to Zeus. Are you gonna send me to Tartarus?" he drawled.
Zeus' nostrils flared. This demigod knows no bounds, he roared inside. Gritting his teeth he nodded to his fellow Olympians to start the ritual. All the Olympians started to chant with a language so old that even Chaos, the creator, can't even speak it fluently. The Language of the Void. The Olympians know a little of it but enough to make someone immortal. Soon enough a beam shot out of them with colors that represent the God who sent it. With Hades black, Athena Grey and so on. The beams shot toward Percy. As he bit his lips to prevent the scream from coming out. He won't let them give the satisfaction of knowing he is in pain. As his body corrodes, first was the flesh decaying. Rotting away laying his bones bare to all to see. Next was his skeleton disintegrating to ashes leaving his soul flickering. Soon the skeleton reformed glowing gold then his flesh which also gives a slight glow. Gasping Percy stood wobbling and glare at the Gods and cursing them in his head.
"Next Tartarus?" He said with tiredness leaking through his voice. Zeus nodded and threw his bolt to the ground next to Percy. Causing a crack that everyone knew would lead straight to Tartarus. Percy sighed and fell backwards but not before saying
"You will regret this. A war will come and I will not be here to save you. Not anymore. To the Gods who voted against this, I thank you including Artemis. Good luck with the war Olympians."
Line Break, An hour later.
"Hmm, if he survives he could be great candidate no?" Artemis said to herself, "At least now he would not have any ties to the rest of the council." As she watched the chessboard which has its pieces scattered all over the board. War had always been messy and ever-changing one moment you are victories next you are dead. "Although his skills need working on, that can be changed. His intelligence seemed not to be as what others said, clearly he is more intelligent than he is letting on. Good, never reveal all your cards." Artemis moved a knight.
" From now on you are a knight." she announced. "May the games begin." She leaned back and smiled "this is getting more interesting."
End
" The chess board is the world, the pieces are the phenomena of the universe, the rules of the game are what we call the laws of nature and the player on the other side is hidden from us." - Thomas Huxley
