Goodbye
The next day was a sad day for Adlanna. It was the day she had to say goodbye to everything she had ever known. She had packed all the things she was going to take the night before, and now she had the hardest part: saying goodbye. She went into the kitchen and found Obi-Wan and her father talking, about what she did not know. Obi-Wan looked up.
"You ready?" he asked. She gave him a cold look.
"Yes," she said through clenched teeth. Jonathan walked in.
"Adlanna, mana's raica?" (Adlanna, what's wrong?)
"úqua." (Nothing.) She gave her brother a light smile. Then she grabbed an apple and went outside. Adlanna looked up at the sky and saw the sun was just rising. A light breeze blew. Tears welled up in her blue eyes. Taking a deep breath, she whistled and a few seconds later, Ice Shadow raced into view. He galloped towards her, stopping a few feet in front of her. She walked up to him and rubbed his head. "Heime seldo. Manen are tye?" (Hey boy. How are you?) Shadow nickered, gently nuzzling her. "Ni'm going ana miss tye." (I'm going to miss you.) The great stallion gently shoved her towards his back, seemingly understanding what was happening. Fully smiling now, Adlanna leapt onto his back and nudged him into a gallop. Shadow reared, then leapt forward. The two sped across the desert, going in a large loop around her home. Adlanna completely forgot about everything, the joy of being free taking over her. She didn't see her family come out with the Jedi. They watched silently as the girl laughed. They watched as she started using her powers, watched as she hung off Shadow's side, as she pulled herself up into a sitting position. A branch that was near them suddenly shot towards Adlanna. It landed in her hand, and she leapt off Shadow's back. Tharama and Arianna stared; they had never seen Adlanna like this.
Then she saw them. Her smile disappeared and she whistled again, calling Shadow to her.
"Tye n- varna seldo. Ni'll n- at- somedaime, ni promise." (You be safe boy. I'll be back someday, I promise.) She gently pushed him off and watched as the stallion started walking off. Then he stopped and looked back at her, neighing to her. "Linne-! N- mirima!" (Go! Be free!) Ice Shadow reared, screaming. Then he took off, a trail of dust following him. Adlanna walked back to her family.
"Im mel cin," she said once she reached them. (Sindarin) (I love you.)
"Im mel cin too." (I love you too.) Adlanna hugged them, then quickly grabbed her things.
"Im will tul- back." (I will come back.) Tharama smiled at her. He was so proud of his little girl. She had finally grown up, and was finally leaving. She followed Anakin and Obi-Wan to their ship and never looked back. The ship took off. She was finally leaving her planet, possibly never to return.
