Seeing Coruscant
"Wow!" I exclaimed. "Coruscant is amazing!" Anakin was showing me around, letting me take in all the sights. He laughed at my amazement, but he understood. He had been on Tatooine for the first nine years of his life. For those nine years, he told me he had seen nothing but sand.
"You hungry?" Anakin suddenly asked.
"Sure!" Then I narrowed my eyes. "What kind of food is there?"
"Oh, you know." Anakin smirked. "The usual." I rolled my eyes.
"Can we just eat?" I demanded. Now it was Anakin's turn to roll his eyes. He steered me into a restaurant, and quickly ordered the food. Fortunately, it was soup. I smiled at Anakin, who smiled back. My smile disappeared, and was replaced with a frown. Anakin was surprised, and looked confused. I turned my head, then leaped to my feet. I grabbed Anakin's hand, tossing some credits onto the table. We left the restaurant, and I turned to Anakin.
"Anakin." I paused, looking around carefully.
"What? Why did you have us come out here?"
"Anakin, I think someone's after me." Anakin scrunched up his forehead.
"I don't sense anything-"
"I don't either, but I had- and have- a feeling we were being watched. And if that someone wants me, they will kill anyone in their way." I was feeling exasperated.
"I think," Anakin whispered, "we should see the council about this. If someone were looking for you, and wanted you dead, then I think you shouldn't be here."
"Anakin, turn around and act like I'm not telling you anything. I want you to take me back to the Temple- the faster the better."
"Why? Oh!" He turned around, and stalked off ushering me in front of him. We climbed into the speeder and then he whisked it up and away. I was still tense.
"Why do I still feel like I'm being followed? Why, Anakin?" I begged him for an answer, but I didn't get one. He was too busy flying and dodging Coruscant traffic. In less than five minutes, we were there, and Anakin was ushering me into the Temple. Once inside, he instructed me to go to my room and stay there until further notice. I nodded, but then asked, "What are you going to do?"
"Tell Master Kenobi, and hope the council will understand. Now go." I nodded and scurried away to my room.
Why me? Who wants me? I reached my room and slipped inside. Now was a good time for me to unpack my things, or should I? I didn't know. I just wanted Anakin to come and tell me it was alright. Almost on cue, Anakin knocked on my door, and I rushed to open it. "Is everything alright?" I stopped at the sight of his face.
"Obi-Wan says you could be grave danger. However, you will start your training tomorrow as planned." I sat down on the bed. My life could be in danger, and yet I would be trained? That didn't make any sense! I put my head in my hands. Almost as if he read my thoughts, Anakin came and sat down next me.
"We'll find them. I promise." He wrapped his arms around me, and I leaned into his arms a bit.
"Thanks," I mumbled. My eyelids started drooping, and I yawned. He laughed lightly. My eyes closed, and my head bent. I heard Anakin tell me that it would be alright.
I woke up the next morning to Master Obi-Wan knocking on the door. I was lying on my bed, which surprised me as I remembered falling asleep on Anakin's lap.
I wonder what he thought of that. I laughed slightly. He knocked on the door again.
"I'm up!" I cried.
"You need to come tell the Council why you think someone might be after you," Obi-Wan told me through the closed door.
"Ok. Be there in five?" A different voice answered. It was Anakin.
"Yeah yeah. Just hurry up!"
"Alright!" I exclaimed, annoyed. I was fully dressed by now, so to their surprise, I walked out of my room, flicked Anakin on his forehead, then took off running.
"Hey!" Anakin cried angrily, and raced after me. He started to catch up, and I grasped a door frame.
"Ha! You can't get me!"
"Why not?" he whined.
"Safe zone," I told him, smirking. Obi-Wan came up.
"Can you two call a truce?" he begged. "We have to go to the Council." I wiggled my eyebrows.
"Truce?" I asked, holding out my hand. Anakin nodded, grasped my hand in his, and shook it.
"Truce." Then he flicked me. I flicked him back. We flicked each other until Obi-Wan said,
"Would you two stop engaging in a flicking war?" I nodded, and let go of the door frame. Then we went into the elevator.
"Ready?" Anakin asked.
"Of course! Why wouldn't I be?"
"You will have to let us know about your past- and why someone would want to kill you."
So, what do you think? (In the next chapter, you will find out more about her past.)
