It's my birthday in a few days and I know it sounds really bad but I've been avoiding Maihua since the kiss. I want to spend my birthday with her and my other friends but I just don't want things to feel awkward. K'leiah thinks I should invite her over to talk about it, so after an hour of debating and me being so damn indecisive, I call her. "Hey, I know we haven't talked in a hot minute so I was wondering if you wanted to come over?" I was so hesitant, "Are you sure you want me to come over? Or are you inviting me over because you feel bad for avoiding me?" I can hear how mad she is through the phone, "I'm sorry, I just didn't want things to be awkward after, you know." I mean I have to be honest with her. I've already been avoiding her texts and calls for a week now. "Yea, yea I'll come over." She hangs up.
About 30 minutes later I hear the doorbell ring. I take a deep breath and then open the door and there she is. I tell her to come in and we go straight to the living room, I offer her a glass of water or a snack, she says no so I sit down. "So why did you want me to come over?" I think about how I can put my thoughts into words for a few seconds, "I guess I just wanted to apologize for how I treated you, we kissed, then I acted like you didn't exist. That was really shitty of me." I can still see that she's angry and upset and I don't blame her. After talking for a while we make plans to hang out in a few days. I'm kinda excited. She won't tell me where she's taking me though.
A few days later it's the day we're supposed to hang out. Coincidentally it's also my birthday. I put on a yellow striped crop top and white ripped jeans. I pair my outfit with white Air Forces and a couple rings. A few mins later I get a text from Maihua.

So at 7:00 she comes over to my place and I get in the car. "Can you tell me where we're going now?" I'm being so impatient at this point. "I mean, it depends. Do you REALLY wanna know?" She says it in sarcastic flirty type of way and it makes me question if I REALLY wanna know. "Of course I wanna know, if I didn't, I wouldn't have asked." We drive in silence for a couple minutes then she admits that we're going to a party. I mean it sounds fun but will it be? We arrive at the party and I see my friends K'leiah and Jordan. They run up to the car and greet us. "You took me to MY friends party?" I didn't even think K'leiah had any contact with Maihua so I'm shocked at how this happened. "It was a surprise I guess. Happy birthday Kiah." She leans over and kisses me on the cheek. I get out of the car and hug my friends, and we head inside. I don't know what's gonna happen at this party but I'm excited. I haven't been to a party in forever, they're not my thing. And oh so many things could go wrong tonight. Or really well.
