After Maihua and I get settled into the party, we get drinks and start playing truth or dare. "Alright Kiah, truth or dare?" I could tell Jordan wanted me to pick dare, she kept laughing. "Dare" I say it with confidence but I'm also kinda nervous. "Alright girly, I dare you to play 7 minutes in heaven with...... Maihua." She says it like it's some amazing dare. "What, are we in kindergarten? That's no big deal. C'mon Maihua." I grab her by the arm and take her to the nearest bedroom.
"So seven minutes in a bedroom, all alone." She starts laughing uncontrollably. It's kinda funny, "Maihua?" I start inching closer. She doesn't notice it though, but I notice her looking at my lips. "Yes Kiah?" It's my birthday and for once in my life I'm feeling bold, "Kiss me, Maihua." She doesn't waste any time and I'm honestly surprised. She's kissing me like she's been waiting for this all her life. She stops. "What's wrong?" I ask her this because I don't want her to be uncomfortable. I'm ok with kissing her and stuff but if it's too soon for her, I'll understand, "I know we only met a week ago, but we're already kissing and shit. So I was wondering..." she pauses like she's nervous, "I'm about to sound hella cheesy, but would you want to go an official date with me? If you say no I totally get it and I" "Maihua, shut up" I kiss her softly just to let her know my answer. She kisses me back and we stay there for a while just laying with each other and talking. Soon our seven minutes are up and we go back out to the party, "So who's next?" Everyone is looking at me and Maihua. Maybe it's because we're holding hands, or maybe it's because for the first time I've been genuinely ecstatic.
