"Hello? Are you alright? Your chin is bleeding...."

Terrence was getting impatient but he was worried for the girl infront of him, holding out a five dollar bill to the frozen cash register. Yana's heart fell, she ignored the fact the bleeding started again, and took the five dollars.

"Sorry about that, here's your drink." Terrance nodded and left the cafe with his friends.

Monday 10pm

Yana closed the cafe. And went straight home. "I'm home!" The first person she saw was her cousin playing video games on the couch. She sighed. "Where's auntie?" Jamie put himself on autoplay, and then looked at Yana, He gasped. "She's not home. Come here..." Yana gulped, her face couldn't possibly still be red and bleeding.... could it?

Her cousin held her chin. Yana shrieked as it stung. "Who did this to you?!?" Her cousin quickly ran to the kitchen to get the first aid kit. Yana refused to answer. Jamie got the message and was furious. "My mom did this...didn't she? Why?" Yana suddenly started to cry. Jamie stopped treating her wound, and hugged her tightly. "What's wrong?" Yana sniffed. "I miss uncle, I miss my parents...." Jamie's expression softened as he caressed her head.  "I didn't go straight to the cafe after school to spend time with Yungso for once... and she threw a wooden stick a me and slapped me for being disrespectful and k-killing uncle..." Yana cried harder. "She threw a wooden spoon at you!! I'll talk to her!" Jamie felt bad for Yana... He didn't know why his mom hated Yana so much either.

Tuesday 8am

"KANG YANA!"

Yana rubbed her eyes and woke up. Her aunt was impatiently waiting for Yana at her bedroom entrance. "Don't you have a class? My son won't leave for his classes until your up. So get up!" Yana sighed, and looked at her alarm clock. She immediately got up of bed realizing she was almost late for class. "Sorry auntie! I'll come upstairs in a minute!" Her aunt glared at her and went upstairs.

"Mom, do you have to be so mean?"

"When was I mean? I'm your mother, I care for you and love you..."

"Mom I'm not a boy anymore. She came home yesterday.... bleeding. I don't want to assume it was you... but..."  Jamie was cut off, when his mom suddenly yelled. "KANG JAMIE!" Jamie sighed and apologized.

Yana heard everything, she came down and had a dull look on her face. "I'm here... let's go?" Jamie nodded and kissed his mom goodbye. Yana just waved, of course like every morning receiving a glare back.

"Can you focus on the road? And can you go any faster? We have 5 minutes.... and were late.." Jamie looked at the road, and began to speak. "Don't avoid my question..." Yana gulped. "Why is it so hard to answer?" "I'm just tired..I didn't sleep much yesterday...", A red light came on, he took this chance to look at Yana "That doesn't explain the dullness in your eyes.... it's scary." Yana bit her upper lip and said "I just, don't argue with your mom because of me..." Jamie looked at the road as it turned green, and said "but what she did to you was wrong." "I know, but she's the one taking care of me and paying for my school and health. Maybe she hates me but she's obligated to care for me... being one of her only family." Jamie smiled. "I'm glad you don't hate her too." Yana gave him a sad smile. "Why would I?"
