we were like driving in an endless highway, yerim went silent, and i was looking through my phone. "your phone's boring," i heard yerim chuckle. i looked at her, "i mean, your gallery's full of notes, then you don't have any single games installed, it's all merriam's and those shitty school apps." i shook my head, "sorry, i'm not a gamer and i don't actually play cooking fever at all." her eyes widened then laughs, "since when did you know!?" by this time, she was already laughing. "i caught you, you know. i have four eyes, for your information." then we laughed together. "where are we going?" she was humming a song, "to a bar, but not that kind of bar where teenagers go when they just want to get drunk or party, i call this as a calm bar and not a paranoid bar. get my point?" she's good in inventing words, as well as giving names, so i laughed and nodded at what she said. "we're almost there. i know you hate bars, the paranoid bar, so i decided not to take you there because i don't like it either." i smiled at her, then she smiled back at me but the corner of her eyes never wrinkled.

you only knew if someone's smile is real, when the corner of their eyes wrinkled.

i thought for it a second, but maybe yerim was actually happy, it's just that she don't want to smile atleast. yerim slowed the car down, and there i saw a sign in neon lights, young love was written on it. the outside looks very calm, the lights reflected on my face. we got out of the car, and read the sign out loud, "young love." i said, putting my hands in the pocket of my jacket, my hair were everywhere because i didn't even brought a hair tie. "yeah, young love. cool name for a bar." yerim seconded, standing beside me. "let's go?" i nodded and we entered the small door leading us towards the bar, that was actually calm. there were a little bit of people on the dance floor, and they weren't dancing as if it's the last, they were calm. "take a sit." yerim pulled out a chair for me, then i sat next to her. "how'd you find all of these nice places?" i asked. "adventure, search, finding out things." she shortly replied. "why? i mean, why do you do all of these stuffs, when you know you're half risking your life?" the bright lights were like inside her eyes, i continued to stare at her, then she looked back to me. "because you would never find out things when you won't take a risk, or you won't find them out. sooyoung, they wanted to be found, but you chose not to. they were here, just waiting for you to find them. you know why? because you're afraid of taking risks, you are afraid to get out of your comfort zone. you chose a boring life instead of a life full of happiness." she stared at me in the eyes, as if telling me to try things i wouldn't even think that i will try. she was right, i am afraid of risks, that's why there's a lot of things i don't know. "sooyoung," she called. "you're still 21, by this time of your life, you must be enjoying and explore things, but you weren't that type of teenager. you're locked on your own cage, then you don't even try to escape." she exhaled. "what i am trying to say is that get loose sometimes, and also take risks, don't be afraid of anything, and trust yourself." for the first time, her eyes wrinked, the ends of her lips curved up. she was smiling. she smiled for real. "come on, let's have a dance!" she grabs my hand then dragged me to the dance floor.

she was swaying her hips, then i stood there staring at how she closes her eyes and felt the rythm. she was looking fabulous, she didn't care about anything, like the school tomorrow. she wasn't thinking of anything, like she might get caught or she might won't graduate. she was happy, she's carefree. i wonder why i didn't have the exact personality as hers, it's very cool.

she opened her eyes, then grabs my hands and interwined it with hers, then she raises it up high. "dance!" she yelled, so i took a breath. get loose, take risks, trust yourself. my hips started to sway with the music, then my mind was empty. all i can think was this girl, who's name is kim yerim, a run away girl that has her hands intertwined with mine.

we danced, we laughed, then we stopped and look at each other. "you're way more beautiful up close," she suddenly said as she stared at me intensely. "you're beautiful, park sooyoung." and then there's her smile again, and i believed that smile. i took both of her arms, then placed it into my shoulders as my hands snaked on her waist. "and you're hot, cute and gorgeous. you're not weird, but you are cool." we placed our forehead together and felt each other's arms. this is the moment that i never thought that would actually happen. i just dreamed about this, then yerim made my dream came true. she finally hugged me, our bodies swaying. "i was right on picking the person who i wanted to spend a night full of pranks." her voice was a bit muffled, but i heard clearly what she said. "so are you saying that you're right on picking me?" i asked back, still hugging her tight and my eyes were closed. "yeah, i learned things from you, then you learned things from me. i got to know you more. i just pass by you in school, but now i got the chance to hang out with park sooyoung." i was sure i'm blushing madly because of her.

we slowly pulled away, then stared at each other, until yerim smiled and took my hand out of the place. we entered the car, "let me drive." i said. "you sure?" she asks, then i nodded. we switched places, i started the engine then we go to downtown. i always wanted to see the city lights at night, but because i'm not allowed to go out very late at night, i never got to do it. then, here i am, sitting beside yerim, and were out to see the city lights.

she took out her head outside, then the wind blows her hair. she was absolutely gorgeous, and no one can change my mind. i smiled throughout the ride, until we actually saw the city lights. "it's better to view them when you're with someone." yerim said. "you always have the chance to see them, but now, i'm with you." i said. "yeah, it's the best when watching it with you." she chuckled, then proceeded to look outside.

young love, it is.
