"okay and open your eyes!" josh said as he stopped his girlfriend right in front of her bed. the bed was covered in gifts and her favorite flowers. floating in her room were several balloons with photos of the two of them attached to the ends.
(y/n) went around and touched every single thing joshua had laid out for her birthday. "how did you manage to do all of this? you picked me up and took me out. this wasn't here." she told him. "i have my ways, cutie. open your gifts." joshua said as she grabbed a box.
joshua couldn't help but watch with such love in his eyes. he hadn't been able to tell his girlfriend he loved her yet. he was waiting for the right time. just say it, josh.
every gift (y/n) opened, she gave joshua a peck on the lips to show how happy and thankful she was for them. "you didn't have to spoil me, the dinner was just enough." she told him as she hugged his side.
(y/n) stood up and went to look at the balloons' photos and set her gifts on her hanging chair in the corner of her room. joshua had so many thoughts in his head, he wanted to blurt out the words but he was nervous.
"hey babe, can i take a picture of you and us with your polaroid?" joshua asked walking to grab the camera from her vanity desk. he heard a soft hmm, which he assumed meant yes. fidgeting the item in his hand he quickly turned around and loudly announced, "i love you, (y/n)."
standing up from her crouching position, she stared at joshua and walked closer to him. "what did you say?" knowing she fully heard what he said. (y/n) loved the way it sounded coming from him.
"i love you. i really do. what better day to say it other than on your birthday?" joshua told her as she threw her arms around his neck. "i love you too. i have for a while, i didn't know when to say it exactly. but i love how you said it first.." she said pulling away and kissing his lips.
"this was the best birthday ever. thank you so much for everything." (y/n) whispered as they held each other. "anything for you." joshua told her and kissed her forehead. "okay now let me take a picture of you." he told her as (y/n) smiled and the flash went off.
