(y/n) always found herself at the local frozen yogurt shop. she didn't even like frozen yogurt, but she constantly saw the cute boy who worked there. a small conversation works up and they click.

(y/n) pulled into the frozen yogurt shop parking lot. from outside the store window she saw him. the boy who she kept coming to get this not so delicious frozen treat from. she had learned his name was joshua.

walking inside she saw it was just him and a few lingering customers at tables already. preparing herself she went to grab her choice of cup and scanned the yogurt machines. (y/n) rolled her eyes since she already knew every single flavor and tried each of them already from how often she was here.

pulling the lever down she got a pomegranate flavored one today. not that she would actually even eat it. the cup was filled a little less than halfway and she slowly walked to the toppings section. the boy slid over and smiled at her, adding in conversation. "hi welcome to froyo treats, which toppings would you like?"

nervously she handed him her cup and his face came to realization. "oh hey, i should really say welcome back." he laughed a little as he got her cup. (y/n) laughed a little and started speaking, "strawberries, chocolate chips, gummy worms, and colored sprinkles."

joshua nodded and scooped a few of each topping into the cup. "so uhm, whats your name? if you don't mind me asking." (y/n) shifted her eyes from his hands pouring the toppings and stood a little straighter. "it's, (y/n)." she responded smiling a bit.

"nice name, i'm joshua." he said, she only pointed to his name tag on the apron he was wearing. "i see that, you know since i'm always here." she laughed. the boy awkwardly laughed, almost embarrassed.

joshua walked to the end of the topping bar to weigh the cup on the scale at the paying station. as he placed it down he started up conversation again. "so do you go to school around here?" as the scale took a while to measure the amount inside.

"yeah, i go to the school at the end of the block. what about you, or any plans not related to school?" (y/n) asked him back and pulled her wallet out her purse. the scale finally weighed and as joshua ringed her up he answered.

"well actually i go to the school over near the mall, not too far. but honestly, i would much rather uh, oh nevermind." joshua said taking her card and not finishing his sentence. "no you can tell me, what would you rather do?" (y/n) questioned and started to push the toppings around her cup.

"i kind of want to be an actor. either now or after high school. something i always wanted to do." joshua told her noticing her lack of eating. "i say you go for it. movies and shows are always searching for young actors. why not?"

joshua felt himself smile, "you're right. i'll do some research. but not to sound weird, i notice you're always here. assuming you really enjoy frozen yogurt?" (y/n) set the spoon down in the cup and let herself laugh. "actually i really don't like frozen yogurt.." she started and watched his face turn confused.

before (y/n) could continue, she saw two people waiting at the end of the topping bar. joshua copied her movements and widened his eyes. "oh shoot, i should get back to work." he said quickly, (y/n) was a little upset she had to leave him.

"of course, don't let me bother you. see you around." she said getting ready to turn away, but before she could he handed her some napkins and dashed to the other customers.

(y/n) thanked him again and headed outside to her car. settling inside she set the cup in the holder, reminding herself to throw it away at home. the napkins were clutched in her hand and as she was about to crumbled them up there was a note on one of them.

it said 'here's my number, we should talk and eat something you actually like. - joshua ;)'  (y/n) wanted to question when he had the time to write this, but didn't. she folded the napkins neatly and placed it under her phone.

she would definitely be messaging him later that day.
