So I cut my foot stepping on glass today. It's weird walking.
I'm also dying my hair pink tomorrow. [Now that I look back on this (6/22/2020), this sentence signifies the start of my downward spiral into pink madness.]
Welcome to lesson 7, my student, the chapter where I lecture you on the difference between 'much' and 'many'. Personally, I haven't seen this mistake on Wattpad, but I've only read like a thousand stories out of millions upon millions.
I'll yeet over the definitions according to Google Dictionary:
MUCH -
A large amount.
to a great extent; a great deal.
MANY -
A large number of.
the majority of people.
I think that explained it. Notice how 'much' refers to a large amount, but 'many' specifies that it's a number. Keep that in mind.
The tip for identifying which word to use in your sentence is to use 'many' only when referring to something you can count, and use 'much' when it's referring to something that cannot be counted. It's pretty easy to get the hang of, as the two words are similar to 'fewer' and 'less'.
By the way, I've noticed that these chapters have been getting shorter and shorter lately. I feel that this is because I don't feel the need to explain too much, which is nice. It's also because schoolwork has been tough to get done lately (it's such a bore, I'm not even learning anything), and I usually end up typing up these chapters in a hurry right before going to bed.
Until the next chapter, stay fresh, cheese bags.
