"I was delighted to see you again, and forgot for the moment that all happiness is fleeting."
Dressed in a red off shoulder gown with a bit of makeup and black kholed eyes, Avni was looking drop dead gorgeous. Most of the people would have been dead by now if only looks could kill.
But her eyes were searching for something or more precisely someone, Neil.
'Maybe he didn't come' thought Avni.
Ali insisted her to have a dance with him, she agreed.
The partners got exchanged and she went into the arms of someone else.
His face was not visible because of the mask but she could recognize the familiar touch.
"Neil" she whispered.
"So you recognized me"he said.
"Neil let me go" she said while trying to loosen his grip around her waist but in return he held her more tightly.
"I won't let you go ever" he whispered in her ears. His hot breath on her neck send shivers down her spine.
She couldn't control and shouted on him, "Who are you to stop me?"
Thankfully the music was louder so no one could hear them.
She further continued, "You already have someone more important in your life, you should go and spend time with her."
Neil couldn't understand what she was talking about. "Who are you talking about?" he asked while getting confused.
"OH!! So who was that girl who was kissing you on your cheeks " she replied with anger clearly evident in her voice.
The Neil remembered the incident. He laughed mentally seeing Avni's jealousy,
"OH God!! Avni you're so cute. She was my friend from college, but later I got to know that she had a crush on me. Avni I didn't had the slightest idea that she was going to kiss me. I'm sorry if I've hurt you" spoke Neil with utmost sincerity.
"It's okay" she replied. She was actually feeling embarrassed.
"So Avni you were jealous, am I right? " he teased her.
" No" she blushed while looking down.
"Avni don't snatch the most beautiful view from me", he said while raising her chin so that he could look into her eyes.
It was as if their eyes were talking in a language of their own.
Without breaking the eyelock he held her hand, "Come with me" he said.
