The much anticiated next installment of the Hunger Games movie franchise is finally here... these are our thoughts:

If there was one word to describe Part One of Mockinjay, it would be moneygrab.

This film takes place following the events of Catching Fire: Katniss shot the arena's forcefield; the rebels rescued her and took her to district 13; Peeta and Johanna, along with other tributes, were captured by the Capitol; and District 12 was destroyed. A very "cliff-hanger" place to leave off at, with much content to work with... something Mockingjay Part One did not utilize.

Not only was this movie uneventful, it had zero plot development. It was only up to the last 30 minutes of the movie that things were actually keeping up. The overall pace of this movie was sporadic, really slow then uber fast at uneven points in the story. We at Cine-Matix like to view movies and books as separate entities, but those of us that read Mockingjay already knew it was the low point and the worst of the series. The same could be said for this movie.

Now don't get me wrong, just becuase it was uneventful DOES NOT MEAN it wasn't entertaining. Come on guys, its the Hunger Games we're talking here... the teenage demograph is gonna see it anyway and probably love it too.

Not gonna lie, this isnt my best review, but this wasnt the best movie.

The better points in the movie were most of the propaganda scenes, a few Peeta scenes... um.... like, they visit ruins a lot so one of those was cool too....hmmm.... OH I GOT SOME ACTUALLY!

CLEARLY the best part of the movie was the actual REBELLION!!!! Screw Katniss's story, seeing the districts totally rage was probably the best part of the movie. Also, the final scenes were totally badass, kind of reminded me of some Black-Ops Call of Duty shit going on. But then... the ending.... *sigh*

In all honesty... this franchise couldve gotten away with one Mockingjay movie....

but hey, that means we're all going to watch the last installment anyway.... unless they somehow figure a way to make a spinoff....

and make more money....

money....

*sigh*
