One of the most popular guys at school... that's something Yeosang has never been and never will be. One of the invisible guys at school? That's something he's not either... sadly. He really wishes he was at least invisible in school. Invisible so that the most popular guys at school wouldn't see him and wouldn't make fun of him for something he can't control... For being gay.
The worst part is that some of the popular guys think he likes Park Seonghwa... the most popular guy at school. The most popular and straight guy at school.
But Yeosang doesn't like him...
"Oh look, here comes Seonghwa." Yeosang hears someone behind him say, which makes him quickly turn around. "He believed it!" The guy laughs and the group behind him joins in. "And he says he doesn't like him." Han Jisung laughs.
"Poor guy likes my straight friend. Have you forgotten he's dating a girl?" Yunho laughs and Yeosang just stays quiet and turns the other way.
"Hey! Don't turn your back to us." Yunho turns him around. "I was talking to you." He glares at him.
"What do you want?" Yeosang asks him.
"Damn... Yunho, are you going to let this loser talk to you like that?" Felix asks.
"Obviously not." Yunho pushes him back. "You can't talk to me like that. Who do you think you are?" He keeps pushing him back until he ends up being pushed onto something... or someone. He doesn't even dare to look up. He's just hoping it's not a popular kid at school. They'll never let this slide.
"Bothering someone again?" Yeosang hears a voice from behind him as his back is against their chest. "When will you guys stop?"
'You've got to be kidding me. This is so embarrassing.' Yeosang thinks to himself.
Since Yeosang was lost in his thoughts, he hadn't realized that Park Seonghwa was the one he was pushed onto by Yunho. Seonghwa was now standing in front of him, looking directly at him.
Something he forgot to mention was that Seonghwa might be the most popular guy at school, but he'd never bother or hurt anyone... not intentionally, at least. That's what makes him more likeable, which is what makes him the most popular guy at school. Everyone loves him.
He's the total opposite of Jung Wooyoung, the second most popular guy at school.
"You okay?" He asks him and it's like Yeosang forgot how to talk.
Yunho, Jisung, and Felix start laughing. "I guess his tongue got bitten off." Jisung says.
"It's just that he never thought he'd be this close to Seonghwa." Yunho says. "In a way, I did him a favor and he says I'm a horrible person?" Yunho touches his heart.
"Knock it off." Seonghwa turns to them. "I've told you all that you have to be nice to people."
Yeosang can't help but blush. Seonghwa's back is turned to him and it's like he's protecting him from the three guys that were bothering him just a few minutes ago. Seonghwa turns back to Yeosang after he's done talking to the guys.
"Please let me know if they bother you again. I'm trying to turn them into decent human beings but I haven't succeeded yet. So tell me if they bother you again, okay?"
Yeosang just nods, not being able to even say 'thank you'. Nothing comes out.
"Okay." Seonghwa smiles before turning to the three again. "Don't bother him." He says again before walking away to his girlfriend.
I guess Yeosang does like him after all.
"Why does he keep asking us to not bother him? Are they best friends now or what?" Jisung rolls his eyes.
He has asked them to not bother Yeosang before? This had been the first time Seonghwa had talked to him but he had already asked them to not bother him?
Yunho slams Yeosang's locker shut before walking away.
"I'd be careful if I were you." Jisung pushes Yeosang. "You see... one of my friends kind of likes Seonghwa? So leave him alone."
"Well if your friend likes Seonghwa then why are they worrying about the wrong person? Seonghwa has a girlfriend so why do they feel so threatened by me?" Yeosang asks annoyed. "There's nothing going on between us so leave me alone."
"Well you wish something was going on." Felix laughs. "Just because he's a nice person doesn't mean he'll end up liking someone like you. He's nice to everyone... and he's straight."
"I never said he liked me." Yeosang rolls his eyes and turns around, starting to walk away but Jisung catches up.
"Y-"
"Hey, leave him alone." A guy pushes Jisung back.
"And who are you?"
"None of your business, now leave him alone." He glares at Jisung before taking Yeosang's arm and walking away.
"Why did you defend me?" Yeosang asks him. "I don't even know you."
"Well that's because I'm new." The guy smiles. "I'm Mingi, a new student. What's your name?"
"Yeosang."
"Are there many bullies in this school? I'll put them in their place."
"Don't get involved, you'll get bullied too."
"Me? The Song Mingi being bullied? I'd like to see them try."
"Well, thanks for defending me, I guess. Someone had already defended me before you and it didn't work. Now I feel like a loser."
"Why don't you stand up for yourself?"
"I try but it's all useless. I have a friend who stands up for me all the time but he's sick today."
"What's his name?"
"Jongho."
"But you can't depend on people to defend you. You should stand up for yourself."
"Really? I had no idea." Yeosang says a little annoyed.
"Anyway... I have no friends here so let's be friends."
"Okay but don't complain when you get made fun of for being my friend."
"Does your friend Jongho get bullied too?"
"No." Yeosang shakes his head.
"How come? You said I'll get bullied for being your friend."
"Because Jongho can break apples in half with his bare hands."
"Okay... so?"
"What I mean is that he's really strong. They're scared of him."
"Well guess what... I can break a watermelon in half with my pinky. I dare them to mess with me." Mingi exaggerates, which makes Yeosang laugh.
I guess he had just made another real friend.
