Chapter 8

"You!" A weird voice calls in the distance. My body feels numb. What is happening? I can't move my body at all. Heavy breathing falls on my neck. I jump and run away as fast as possible before I trip over something. It's so dark I can't even see my nose. Something touches me and I flinch. I fall once more only this time I notice it doesn't hurt. "Wait a minute..this is a dream!" I start to think of light and it becomes lighter so I'm able to see a bit. I'm in Luke's house. Why am I here? I walk around a bit to find an old photo of us. We were just kids at the beach. My long flowing brown hair with my cute freckles covering my cheeks. His hair all in his face from getting out of the water. I chuckle a bit. I really miss this day and how close we were back then. Everyone swore we were gonna marry each other. Now we are almost strangers. I feel arms wrap around me. It's Luke. I turn to face him. "I missed you Raven" he kisses my forehead lightly as I look up at him slowly. My eyes lock on his and start drifting down to his lips. He notices and leans in. My eyes open. "WHAT THE FUUUUCCCKKKK BODYY!!" I let out a low groan and roll over to check my phone. I have to go to work in 3 hours and I don't wanna get up. "Sooooo comfyyyy.." I purr refusing to get up. My grandma slowly opens the door finding me awake "Raven someone's at the door for you" I groan still not wanting to get up. I roll out of bed onto the floor falling on my back "ouch" my scoliosis did not agree with that. I shake it off and make my way downstairs. Star was at the door in her work uniform. She has to skip school sometimes in order to help her family. Since I graduated this past May, I don't have to worry about it. Hey don't judge me! I'm not in college because I can't afford it yet! "I was hoping I could talk to you about yesterday" she looked upset, it's been a while since I've seen her like this. I step aside letting her in I ask my grandma to leave the room for a bit (not in a rude way) so she can talk. "About what I said..I'm sorry I should've told you sooner..I don't like talking about it much because I can't do anything about it! My family would disown me! I'm only 16 but I can't wait till I'm 18 just so I can do what I want. I want to be a boy even if I wear all these skirts and pastel colors and have long hair. I want to wear baggy pants, still be pastel and have shorter hair. I want my hair to be a pastel color as well! The most my family let's me do is streak it..if that! Also I want to change my name.." my expression changes from compassion to confusion. I've always called her..uh I mean him Star (sorry I'm still getting used to it). "I want my name to be Ashton or Ash for short.." I smile brightly showing I support him. "How about this, we still have 3 hours before work. I'll take you to the mall and get you some clothes you'll be comfortable in? Also I'll start calling you ash!" Ash smiles with tears in his eyes. "Thank you!" He hugs me tightly. We stand up and make our way to my car. Then I realize, I just crawled out of bed and I look like a lion. I run back inside to throw on random articles of clothing that I find scattered around my room. I only find my work shirt and ripped jeans. I throw them on catching my foot in a rip causing me to fall over myself hitting the ground. "That hurt" I help myself up and hop downstairs. I grab my work ID and head out the door. "Why did you go back in? I thought you bailed on me for a minute there." Ash chuckles nervously. I hop in the drivers seat and drive off to the mall. The beginning of the ride was silent- no talking, no radio, nothing. Suddenly I connect my phone to the radio and played I Miss Having Sex but at Least I Don't Wanna Die Anymore by Waterparks. Ash's face lit up as he started singing along to the lyrics happily. We soon arrive at the mall and Ash hops out the car like a bunny who smelled carrots or something as he takes off toward the door. "Ash! Wait for me!" I laugh locking my car and running to catch up. We wonder throughout the mall for what seems like hours. "Want to get some food?" Ash asks suddenly. I nod as we start walking to the food court. Ash extends his arm out in front of me causing me to stop abruptly. He points in front of us and there before us were the amazing Markiplier and jacksepticeye. We look at each other "OH MY GOD ITS MARK AND JACK" we whisper-yelled in unison. "Be cool. Be cool" I say "we need to keep our cool. What if they remember us?" Ash nods and looks over at them. Jack starts whispering in marks ear and points at us. I feel a blush spread across my face. Ash covers his face hiding the blush as our idols approach us. "Hey aren't you the two who we met at PAX a couple of months ago?" We both nod happily. "I didn't know you remembered us honestly" mark laughs "how could we forget the ones that played the song All the Way and got the whole crowd of people outside to sing it. You made an impact." Ash hides his face with his sleeves as I chuckle a bit. "We just wanted to see if it was actually you two and check up on you. We care about our fans after all" Mark adds. We all talk for a bit longer before we end the conversation with a hug and another pic with both Mark and Jack. Ash and I walk around a corner "did that just happen?" He asks me shocked. I nod as I pinch my arm to make sure I'm not dreaming. Ash does the same. Suddenly we start squealing like little kids but calm down a bit when people started staring. "Today has been a great day. Shall we make our way to Hot Topic?" Ash asks holding his elbow for me to hold it. I grab his arm and we skip to the store. We finish our amazing day with going to a tattoo shop and getting some body mods. I get a tattoo and a nose piercing while Ash gets snake bites and a tattoo. We arrive home late do Ash stays the night. We lay on the couch for a while watching YouTube. I suddenly jump "ASH WE NEVER WENT TO WORK" I blurt out suddenly. We look at each other for a moment in silence with serious expressions then laughter fills the room. "We've had an amazing day and I completely forgot about work. I'll call the boss tomorrow and explain hopefully we aren't fired" ash says. I nod. Finally the house is silent again other then the voices of Jack and Mark on the TV. Suddenly the door bursts open. "Raven there's been an accident" it's Luke.
