Tea & Hairbrush & Tunnel

You walked into the kitchen and prepared Maylu's tea. You prepared the water and Hobbie hopped next to you.

"I hope Maylu chokes on her tea!" He grumbled and handed you the tea leaves. You smiled and took them.

"Now, Hobbie..." You gave him a smile (again) and put the leaves into the tea pot, then bringing it to hang above the fireplace on a wire hook. You saw the fire had gone out a bit and started to poke at it with a stick. Then Penelope rushed in.

"Wait wait! I can do it!" Penelope said, rushing to you.

"Just be very, VERY careful, Penelope!" You told her. She nodded and took a few deep breaths, but only managed to breathe out a small bit of fire into the fireplace. "Awww..." She groaned in defeat.

"It's OK, nice job!" You assured her, and she smiled, but her tail accidentally hit the table behind her, which had a tray of cookies, the cup, lemon, sugar and mini tea pot on it!! You 3 all gasped and quickly caught all the items, but Hobbie accidentally ate all the cookies...since he caught them with his mouth...

"Phew..." You breathed in relief.

"Well, that certainly was close!" You heard your NetNavi [NN's/N] say. You nodded at her and picked her up. "Just 5 more minutes left for the tea." She reminded you, looking at the stopwatch in the screen.

"Hey...Where's the teacup?" Penelope asked. That's right! The teacup wasn't on your tray and no one else was holding it! [NN's/N] gasped.

"GUYS! It's there!" She pointed behind you guys, and you all turned around. The teacup was toddling on the edge of a shelf, fell, hit a spoon, and it landed on a statue's nose, which was a gargoyle. Penelope caught the teacup. Then the head of the gargoyle lowered and you all stared in shock as a secret passage way opened!

"Whoa..." You said, looking at the stairs.

"Alright, that's...down right spooky..." Hobbie commented. You walked over to the stairs leading downwards and stared at the passage.

"I wonder where it goes." You wondered. [NN's/N] shook her head in protest.

"NO! You CAN'T go! What about Maylu and her tea? You guys only have 3 mins now!" She said, pointing to the stopwatch again.

"We'll be back here in a sec, come on!" You encouraged, grabbed your Navi and started to head down the stairs with Hobbie and Penelope walking close behind you. You all walked down the stairs and entered what seems like a storage room. There was dust everywhere...

"Nobody's been down here in years." You guessed, taking a look around. You opened a chest and inside was filled with scrolls. You picked one up and opened it, reading it. They were all invitations to balls!

"I can't imagine Maylu attending all these balls!" You laughed and set it back down.

"Me either..." [NN's/N] laughed too and said. Penelope was over in the other corner and saw a portrait. It was a picture of Maylu and...some other man who had his face ripped in the picture.

"Would you look at this!" Penelope smiled and said. You walked over to her and saw the picture. "Ooh, she sure got mad at SOMEBODY! I wouldn't wanna be in his boots!" Penelope joked. You smiled and walked over to the desk. You removed a book off a small box and held the box. 

"What a lovely old box!" You said, blowing off the dust. But the dust flew towards Penelope and she started to sneeze!!

"NOT DOWN HERE, PENELOPE!!!" You exclaimed, and she held it in.

"I'm OK..." She said, returning the smile and sighed in relief. You opened the box and inside...was a white hairbrush. Also, the box seemed to be a music box, because it was playing a lovely small melody when you opened it. You took out the white hairbrush and looked at it. There was something written on the back of the hairbrush.

"This is beautiful, and there's something engraved on the back! 'Constant as the stars above, always know that you are loved. To our daughter [Y/N] on her first birthday..." Your eyes narrowed a bit as you read that part. "With love forever mother and father.'..." You trailed off. "This doesn't make any sense! Maylu said I was abandoned when I was only a few days old!" You said, staring at the brush and sat down on a chair nearby. "Why would she lie to me about that?" You asked.

"Well, why doesn't the old hag do anything but torment people?" Hobbie added and hopped to another part of the room.

"'With love forever...'" You repeated and held the brush closed to your chest.

"That's really weird...Though it's kinda cute." [NN's/N] said. You nodded in agreement. Hobbie noticed a shelf of old books and took one off.

"More junk holders!" He said, and blew the dust off. The dust, once again, flew to Penelope and this time, she sneezed. And it was REALLY loud! It shook the whole basement and a shelf collapsed behind Hobbie. 

"Great job, Hobbie!" [NN's/N] yelled at Hobbie.

"Hehe...oops..." Penelope regretted. 

"God, you really sneeze loud..." Hobbie sighed and said. 

"[Y/N]?" You all heard Maylu's voice!

"Oh boy...OH BOY! Hurry, get cleaning!!" Penelope suggested.

"[Y/N]! Where ARE you?" Maylu snapped.

"I'll have to come back." You whispered to everyone. "Coming my lady!" You yelled, grabbed [NN's/N] and the white hairbrush, and dashed out up the stairs. The stopwatch had reached 5 mins and you took the tea and poured some into the mini teapot, then carried the tray with your Navi in your pocket and headed to Maylu's room. You knocked on her door.

"Enter." Maylu answered and you pushed the door open with your side. You approached Maylu, hiding the hairbrush in your pocket with [NN's/N].

"What took you so long?" Maylu sighed and asked. You set the trap down and poured some tea out of the cup.

"I-I'm sorry. I was um...distracted." You lied, and handed her the cup.

"Lazy, you mean." Maylu corrected, and sipped the tea, looking quite pleased. "Adequate." She said and put down the tea. You stood up in relief and went to go close Maylu's curtains since Maylu now takes a nap after each tea.

"Will there be anything else?" You politely asked.

"No. Go. Don't disturb me until dinner." She told you with a flick of her hand. You smiled and bowed a bit.

"Yes, my lady." You replied and quickly headed out, going back down to the basement with the hairbrush and [NN's/N] in hand. You sat back down on the chair, placing your NetNavi on the table beside. You stared at the print on the hairbrush again.

"This doesn't make sense! Why would Maylu-" You were cut off by Hobbie.

"I'll tell you want Maylu's up to!" Hobbie said.

"What?" You asked.

"No good! That's what!" He told you. Penelope picked up some books on the ground and looked at Hobbie.

"Thank you, that's VERY helpful." She told him and put the books back on the shelf. 

"Well, I see a very big hairy spider!" Hobbie told Penelope. Penelope jumped up into the air in fear, then landed and broke the floorboard with her foot. "Hahaha! Kidding!" Hobbie laughed and joked. Penelope glared at him and pulled her leg out.

"Ugh! Happy?" She asked him. "How are we going to fix this?!" She asked, staring at the hole. You walked over to it and looked at it.

"Don't worry, we'll think of something." You said, holding the candle close so you could see better. You saw that there was a passage underneath.

"Where could that go?" Your Navi asked. 

"Hmm..." You mumbled and jumped down in the hole.
