After a while of trying to convince myself to calm down I asked Mrs. Pollack where the restroom was, she told me it was past the stairs, down the hall, to my left, down the next hall, then swiftly take a right, and it's the second door on the left. As I was going to the bathroom I couldn't help but notice the brilliant patio she had in her back yard. It was enormous, past the patio she had many acres of land. It wasn't a plain and dull back yard either, there were some trees, bushes, and flowers. My eyes darted from one thing to another and all of a sudden I was astonished with what sat in the middle of the yard. There was a beautiful fountain, it towered in the air shooting out water, only for it to be caught at the bottom and reused. There were Angels on the sides and top of the fountain, it had some engraving on it but I couldn't make out what it said.
I finally tear away my gaze from the back and go to the bathroom. I didn't even have to use it. I just felt awkward in the living room. My parents were catching up with their friend and I had no idea who she was except that she was Mrs. Pollack not to mention I was freaking out. I believe I was only a year when she met me. I never seen or heard of her after that. After I got older I went to live with my Aunt Sue in California for a couple years because my parents were having troubles financially so my aunt took me in for a while until they got back up on their feet.

After two minutes went by I decided to go back to the living room. As I head back I take one look at my wrist and say "Pleas, just not today."
I walked into the living room to where I find Jasper talking to my parents. Mrs. Pollack noticed my presence and said "Jasper don't be rude. Introduce yourself to their daughter." She gave himva nudge in my direction.
"Of course mom, I'm sorry." He says with a little hint of annoyance in his voice. He turns to the couch that I was sitting on but I took that opportunity to sneak up on him. I giggled and tapped his left shoulder blade lightly. He quickly turned around.
"Oh, uh. Hi. I'm Jasper." He said nervously.
I looked into his eyes and said "I'm Alyson but you can call me Ally." Adding a smile. We sit down and begin to talk about our hobbies, interests, and school. Jasper listened and talked for a little but I was explaining how I didn't like soccer all that much but he didn't seem to notice. I stop talking and see what he's looking at. My parents and his mother. I realize what he's trying to do.
He leaned back and scoffed. I was surprised by his reaction. Just what were they saying? I had to ask what was going on.
"What is it? What are they saying?" I asked not trying to let the desperation show in my voice. I think I failed because he replied quickly with "They're talking about us."

"What about us? We just met!"

He looked at me with a serious look but quickly changed his expression and said "Hey, calm down. Don't talk so loud. They may hear us. They said something about this-" he began to roll up his sleeve to his red button up shirt. He was showing me his mark. It was just past the bottom of the palm of his hand. "My mom was talking about my mark to your parents. It's stupid really. I don't think we would have the same-" My body froze and I felt all the color flush from my face.  "Alyson..?" He asked barely concerned.
I was shocked. I didn't know what to think. This was so soon. Too soon. I wasn't ready for this. I wasn't even out of school yet. I didn't have to look at his mark twice to know that I had the exact same one just past the palm of my right hand. I didn't know when my brain told my hands to take my watch off but sure enough I was fumbling with it and before I knew it I untied the leather strings and it came off, revealing my mark.

He looked at my mark and quickly said "No.. It.. It can't be." He stood up and began to walk away from where we sat.

"Jasper! What are you doing? Are you okay? Jasper answer me!" Mrs. Pollack was nearly shouting. She had so many emotions wrapped up into her tone. Whatever she had was enough to snap Jasper out of it. He looked at his mom, Mrs. Pollack had fear all over her face. He responded back very quickly with "Mom, she has.. she has the same ma-mark." He stuttered out his response.
Before I knew it Mrs. Pollack takes my wrist and Jaspers. She studies our marks for a little before turning to my parents and saying "I believe he's right. The exact same." She lightly lets go and Jaspers flees the living room. He went back up stairs to his room. I hear the door shut loudly. What was his problem? Did I do something that offended him? "Nice going Alyson, you meet your soulmate for the first time and you managed to piss him off" I think to myself. I tie my watch back over my mark and slowly get up.
Mrs. Pollack is quickly at my side "I'm so sorry dear, I don't know what has gotten into him. He never acts like that. He's usually more well behaved and has manners." I nod my head in response. I know I just met the guy but his actions did hurt. Why was I having feelings so soon? I just met him. What did I not know about this mark? I knew a little about how it worked. It starts to turn brown color when you're fixing to meet your soulmate that's why we had this set up. It's always someone that's associated with your family. The Pollack's were the first my parents thought about trying with. Maybe when I touched him it channeled something between us. I don't know I'll have to talk to my parents or teachers about it. Until then I wanted to go home.
