"Ever since after we left that night, I couldn't stop thinking about what happened. How you just got up and left. You slammed your door and didn't come back out. Why? What did I do? If I did anything to mortify you or piss you off I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to."
She sounded sincere. Gosh I hated that. I hated that she's blaming herself for my actions. She didn't do anything, it was all my reaction to the events that occurred.
"Alyson, you didn't do anything, I promise you that. I acted like a child after we found out about us having the same mark. I didn't mean to upset you. I didn't think it would considering it was our first time meeting." I tried to sound as gentle as I possibly could.
"That's the thing that bothers me the most Jasper. I barely know you and your actions upset me. Why? What else is there to this mark? I know a little about it and that's it,  I'm sure since you're dad is the president of the CC you would know more than anyone I know."

"You're a smart girl. I'll give you that. I'll tell you more about the mark in time, but before I do I'll answer your question. When you meet your 'soulmate' it's one thing. You're physically drawn to them either by how they look or it's something else you can't pinpoint. After you touch them, even briefly, doing it causes something like a connection to occur and you start to get feelings. If I do recall you did touch my shoulder the night you came, correct? So whatever I felt you must have felt."
She looked at me puzzled, she briefly looked away. Something flickered across her face, what was it? Anger or concern? I couldn't tell.
"If I was feeling what you were then why the hell were you so upset? What the hell happened for you to be upset? If anything wouldn't you be happy that you didn't have to search for me any longer than what you have been?"

"Alyso-"
"No." She cut me off before I could finish my sentence. "No, don't 'Alyson' me. I want an explanation."

"Alyson, enough. I'll talk to you about this later. I don't want any further more discussion about this. Now, if you'd excuse me I have things to do. You can stay for a moment and chat with my mother or leave. Your choice. Do not come up stairs. Have a nice day."
I got up off the chair and began to walk up the stairs. I looked down to see her with her head in her hands.
"Frustration gets the best of us." I mumbled to myself. I open the door to my room, shut it, go to my desk, and immediately pull out the note.
