Hydrian Galaxy

Prologue

Earth was known to most humans as the only place where life could be sustained. That fact stayed true until 2020, when a group of scientists made a breakthrough invention: a spaceship that could explore the galactic cosmos, and they discovered the Hydrian Galaxy.

Many people were concerned with the invention due to the impression that Earth would be abandoned and it sparked controversy with the politicians who had supported the creation of this invention because it would harm the power of wealthy corporations and governments around the world. 

The elevated pressure had inevitably forced The Global Government to summon each country's representatives in a bid to resolve this grave issue. The Global Government's headquarters, located in New York City, was quickly the spotlight of chaos. Hordes of news reporters, protestors, and civilians crowded the streets. Their faces seeming lifeless and affectionless towards the disgraced politicians. 

Hundreds of law enforcement officials began ordering to disperse the crowd in order to allow for the politicians to enter. The crowd refused to move and began throwing bottles and other objects at the officials. The sounds of glass shattering echoed throughout the street. 

As the street became more packed, the battered and wounded officers began losing their patience, and their ethical sense faded. Without authority, they aimed their guns towards the citizens as one last bid to scare them away. 

The crowd wouldn't budge, and slowly began moving closer to the building. As the entire world watched, the cops were beginning to drip sweat and their eyes were reddened due to the unbearable tension. The first shots were fired.

"It was us or them", as the news stations would catch on audio before the live recording cut out.

Fortunately, The Global Government predicted that this event would have occurred and informed all the politicians to meet in their foreign relations base which was located in Uptown New York. As the politicians arrived at the base, they each looked at each other. They had all witnessed what had happened during the altercation with the crowd. Everyone who was attending this meeting knew that this massacre wasn't going to be the last, but reluctantly made their way towards the building. 

Although the people were the only reason that they were allowed to have so much power, they would never risk their lives for them. Once inside the building,, the representatives solemnly marched to the conference room and took their seats. The only sound that could be heard throughout the room was the sound of shuffling footsteps. As the final representatives had seated themselves, a light shone on a podium as a man slowly approached it. The man's slicked grey hair, silver watch, and the scar on his left eyelid caught the attention of the representatives as he reached the podium. 

They had all suddenly realized who it was: Drake Hydraion, the Head Commissioner of The Global Government, and who was universally acknowledged as the most powerful man in the world. He had become infamous for overthrowing governments, destroying wildlife and cities, and creating famines that killed millions. He was a man that would do anything in order to achieve his goals, and those who criticized his decisions would never speak again.

At the meeting, the grim truth was revealed: Earth was dying, a virus was released and it was slowly infecting all of the humans on Earth. People all over the globe demanded a solution to the crisis, but The Global Government had no answer. Meanwhile, people were looting buildings, vandalizing property, and committing murder. Civil unrest had spread like the pandemic that had already taken hold. There was no order in this world anymore.
