Chapter 6: Fortune

After Soldierson is wounded terribly, Ally decides to consult with Persistent over how to defeat Commando. Persistent explains to Ally about Soldierson's past. Ally's conflicted feeling explodes as she meets Soldierson at the hospital and an unknown feeling emerges.

It was a hectic night in Hydropolis, as the paramedics rushed in and lifted Soldierson in a carriage, Ally decided to investigate the crater.

As she passed the bystanders, she looked at the crater closely. The abundant debris was a sight to behold, as construction workers began reassembling the missing pieces of the street. There weren't any footprints or traces of hair, which frustrated Ally since she couldn't bring any form of DNA to the laboratory.

She walked outside of the crater in defeat as she headed straight for home. It had been a long night, and knowing that Soldierson would be in extreme care, she decided to get some rest.

She entered her chambers and she changed into her evening clothes. She slowly entered the bed and placed the covers over her.

She looked up at her wall and thought about everything that had happened so far: Jackal's death, Talking to Cookie, Ending up as Soldierson's partner, and watching his partner nearly be killed by Commando.

She slowly felt herself losing consciousness as her eyes closed for the second time since her return from the Hydrian Blacksite.

The sound of heavy footsteps and banging awoke Ally. Her hair felt fuzzy and she had realized that she had overslept. She had no time to dress herself accordingly to answer the heavy knocks. "One second please!" She yelled as she slipped into the bathroom to change.

Ally quickly began putting on her clothes, unaware that the knocks had ceased. As she finished combing her hair into a signature ponytail, she walked out to see Persistent. He was sitting with a packet in one hand, and green tea in the other.

"Pleased to see you Ally." He smiled, "It's been a while."

She replied disdainfully "Why, of all people, are you here?"

"I came to see how you were, I heard Soldierson was injured during that attack." Persistent continued, "Although, the reason why I really came was to give you this."
He handed her a sealed packet with the Hydra Stamp signifying it was a government document.

"This is Soldierson's official report of the events that happened when his master's regiment was decimated." He proclaimed, "I believe this information will be beneficial to you since you want to hunt down Commando."

Ally grabbed the sealed packet and with doubt in her mind she asked, "Is it possible to defeat Commando?"

"He's a Leader with such power that it rivals our King. Their powers combined could make Kingdon tremble at their beckoning." Persistent commented, "They're both extremely powerful but, I believe any opponent is beatable."

Ally listened to Persistent's comment as he was widely experienced in combat. He had recently been selected as The Champion of The Shield and he was also assigned as the Head Captain of the Hydra Army. She knew that Persistent and Jackal had dueled multiple times, with the former always winning.

She grabbed the packet and smiled as she replied, "Thank you for coming, I hope you have a fabulous day."

Persistent smiled, "One more thing, the reason I always beat Jackal was because he had too much faith in me." He walked away as Ally closed the door, hoping she never saw him again.

She turned her attention to the ominous packet, dozens of questions flooded her mind as she slowly tore the packet open. She saw a few medals of honor that had been awarded to their regiment, and a few pictures of Soldierson's group.
