Smut Warning.

"I hear that the new boy takes it up the ass," Ben overheard the boy who sat behind him saying during Science.

Ben listened closely to the conversation, not quite understanding it yet. Ignorantly, he thought that they were talking about a new new boy. The thought of Braxton didn't even cross his mind, because Braxton had been there for a good two to three weeks and he no longer felt all too new to Benjamin. Not to mention, when Ben thought of someone who took it up the ass, he didn't think of Braxton. He knew that Braxton wasn't like that.

"The one with the weird name?" the other boy who had been involved in the conversation replied.

"Yeah, uh, Brendan? No, Braxton. I don't know; it's something like that."

If his attention wasn't there before, Ben was all tuned in now that he knew that it was about Braxton. Oddly enough, Ben didn't like the fact that they were talking about Braxton in such a way. Ben thought that there was a lot to be said about Braxton—and he was surprised that before now, he hadn't heard many people talk about him, but the fact that he was being talked about for being gay—which was something that he wasn't—was a tad bit absurd to Ben. They should've been talking about him for how obnoxious he was, or how truly in love with himself he was. The thought of that just ticked him off.

"He's gay?" the boy questioned, "huh? Wouldn't have thought. How'd you know?"

"He was making some kind of joke to Jeremiah—Jeremiah Woods, or whatever his name is—and then Jeremiah told Connor who told me."

Ben didn't doubt for one second that Braxton would do something like that. Braxton was always making jokes like that to him, Scar and Olivia. Though, a small part of him thought that Braxton might have been smart enough to keep his mouth shut around others, especially people who didn't know him as well.

"That's crazy," he replied, "makes you think, you know? Like, anyone in this room could be gay if that guy's gay. I guess it kind of figures that he's a faggot."

That last comment made Benjamin snap, both figuratively and physically. He wouldn't stand by idly and let them say things that weren't even true. So, he turned back to face the two guys—something that he normally wouldn't have done. He hated interacting with obnoxious classmates. He looked at the guy who had first brought it up, saying, "I don't really think that it's any of your business."

"Not your business to listen in either but ok," he muttered.

Benjamin turned back to face the board once more, not bothering to say another word. He'd silenced their foolish conversation and that was all that he had wanted to do. He felt accomplished enough with that and didn't want to push it anymore.

Ben couldn't get that interaction out of his head for the rest of the day. Was Braxton really allowing gossip to spread about him that easily? Their school was somewhat progressive, and there wasn't a chance that anyone was going to try to cause harm to Braxton over something like that, but people still talked. Had he really not cared that people would be saying things about him? Ben thought that Braxton was truly a fool to let things like that get out about him. The topic bothers Benjamin from the time that it occurred until he finds himself within the walls of Braxton's bedroom that night.

Braxton pulled his shirt over his head. He always seemed to be the first one to undress. It was like he was never nervous to show his skin, and Ben couldn't quite understand how he could be so confident in his own skin. Sure, Braxton had a nice body so Ben could see how he was proud of it, but Ben couldn't imagine being in a body that made him feel that good about himself. He didn't hate his body, but that didn't mean that he liked it.
