"Who is everyone?" I whispered to Twilight.
"Well, the tall, white pony over there is Princess Celestia. On her right is her sister, Princess Luna. Behind them is my brother, Shining Armor, and his wife, Princess Cadence. You'll learn all about them in time. Oh, and you should probably start saying "Everypony" instead of "Everyone."
I nodded. "And what about the brown thing."
She looked at me quizzically.
"You know," I pointed with my... hoof, "him."
"Oh!" She giggled. "That's Discord. He's a draconequus! He has a very interesting backstory, but, as I said, you'll catch on."
I took a deep breath as we finally made it to the throne room.
"Twilight! You're back!" A quiet yellow pony squeaked. A not-so-quiet, all pink pony then piped up, "Don't waste your breath, Fluttershy. She probably doesn't even remember our names." She gave Twilight the evil eye, and I tensed.
"Oh... I'm sorry..." Fluttershy, I guessed, spoke almost too quiet for me to hear.
Twilight laughed, "Of course I remember you, Pinkie Pie! How could I forget?!"
There were three other ponies in the room, an orange one with three apples for a cutie mark, a bright blue one with rainbow hair, and a white one with perfectly curled, purple hair and three gems for a cutie mark. The six ponies group-hugged leaving me, the princesses, Shining Armor, and Discord in an awkward silence.
The hug broke up, and Twilight turned to me.
"Girls, this is Buttercup. I met her... well, it's a long story. Buttercup, this is Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity, my best friends. Hey, wait a minute. Girls, where's Spike?"
Everybody... Everypony looked confused except Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie who were barely able to contain their laughter.
Twilight rolled her eyes, "What did you do to Spike?"
Rainbow explained between snorts of laughter, "We just might have pulled a tiiiiny prank on him."
"Continue..." Twilight glared daggers.
"Oh he's perfectly fine, Twilight," Rainbow replied, "He's just a bit..."
Pinkie blurted out, "Well we gave him this gem and it was super duper sparkly and we told him to eat and he said, 'Yum! A gem!' so then he bit into it and it exploded purple goo all over his face and Rainbow and I laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed-" She sucked in a huge gulp of air. "And now he's taking one of his seven-hour bubble baths." She smiled innocently while we stared at her in wonder.
Twilight turned to me.
"Sorry about that, Buttercup. Pinkie just gets really excited sometimes. Spike is a baby dragon. He's my number 1 helper!"
"So he's like your slave?" I questioned. Everypony stared at me. Rainbow Dash snorted and Princess Celestia's eyes narrowed. I realized I said the wrong thing. Heat reddened my cheeks.
"Um, anyway," Twilight broke the silence, "why don't we show you around Ponyville."

Uneventful chapter. Sigh this season 5 hiatus is driving me crazy. Although... JANUARY 19TH!!!!!! So excited for new Max Ride book!!
