"Get up November." My mom said as she gave me a small shake to make sure I was getting up. I had my headed resting on my Modern History text book.

"I'm up." I said without opening my eyes.

"Sure you are." I could feel my mother roll her eyes at me. "Breakfast is ready down stairs." Mother closed the door as she left the room. Even though she left and I was terribly hungry I didn't get up. I had been studying till one in the morning this last night and my body didn't want to get up. But even through the extreme discouragement, I did eventually decided I needed to get up. So I opened my eyes for them to be greeted with a picture of a blood stained Jacqueline Kennedy right after her husbands assassination.

"That's one way to start off your day." I said as I stretched in the black roller chair I had spent all of my night in. With a small sigh I pushed myself from my white desk and stood up. My back was killing me. But I guess that's a side effect though of studying late at night. After a few more stretches though I looked at my grimy pants I had on and decided I better change. So after moving away from the desk to my dresser located right by my bed I scavenged for some decent clothing. I honestly didn't care, but I figured I might go out today so I better find something to wear that at least looked ok. And eventually I decided on a pair of grey skinny jeans and a shirt that said in large thin print 'Science-1 You-0' once dressed I grabbed my phone and my thick rimmed glasses off of my desk and started to head down to breakfast.

"Hey sis." I can hear from my younger sister Emily. She's 15 going on 16 this up coming coming January.

"Whats for breakfast?" I asked her as I slowly trudged my way down the stairs with her.

"Something. I don't know, nor care." Emily was still half asleep. She had been at a party the night before and I could tell she got no rest at all.

"It's Waffles and Bacon." Our dad called to us from the kitchen. He was wearing a cliche 'kiss the cook' apron as he put some bacon down in a grease trap of a pan.

"Sweet, my favorite." Said Emilys twin brother Kyle as he snuck up behind us.

"So how was the party?" Mother asked who was now sitting down at a little bar like counter in the kitchen.

"It was great fun." Kyle said sarcastically.

"Emily?" Mother looked at Emily for reassurance.

"It was pretty fun. I just wish we didn't get home at flipping two in the morning." Emily said as we all sat next to Mother.

"Why didn't you go to that party Ember?" Dad asked me.

"I wanted to study for my quiz on Monday." That was only a partial lie. I did want to study, but not for a test. I wanted to study because I enjoy learning more thing. But if I told dad that he would get upset. He believes studying is good and I should keep it a habit to study, but he doesn't want me missing out on extra events just to learn something that might potentially be pointless to learn. But I don't think reading about Kennedy's Camelot Era is pointless.

He gave me a small scowl. "You know what I'm going to say." He said as he placed my food in front of me.

"I know. I know." I said as I poured syrup on my waffles. "You should go out and have experiences and what not." I said with a fake deep voice as I tried to imitate him.

"November..." Mother had a sense of scorn in her voice.

"I love you daddy." I said with a cheesy grin as I put my hands over my chest in the shape of a heart.

"I love you to Ember." Dad said as he hung up his 'kiss the cook' apron on a hook by the fridge. And then, we all ate breakfast together and had the occasional small talk. Like any other healthy family I would guess.
