6. Dilemma

Ram's POV:

I know she's gonna propose him and get a nosecut... Nice watching it though... I slowly walked and handed over her drink. She drank it in a gulp... Guess it's due to Arjun's response... "Jo it's getting late , let me drop you, come with me"... She replied with a sad nod. We got into the car... And as soon as the wind blew on her face she fell asleep... Her face glow in the moonlight... She looked like an angel sent from above...

*Phone rings*

"Hello..." Said a voice in a low tone...

Mm mm mm mm as always... You know I have some good news... I just found the right girl for Arjun and I spoke at her house and things are coming together" said Vijay.

"Oh apdiye ... That's good to hear... Tomorrow is Jo's bday. Don't miss it. You know she loves you more than me."

" Sure Dev... Good night... "

"Jo wake up" i tried waking her up but all in vain... Hmm I think I will pick her up and go inside... I parked the car and slowly picked her up in my arms. I directed Velu uncle to open the door for me and asked him not to make any noise... As soon as I entered,  Dev uncle was surprised to see me carrying her in my arms... I went into her bedroom.. placed her on her bed and covered her in the blanket. She curled up like a baby. I would spend my entire life watching her like this.  Then I switched off the lights and left the room... Dev uncle was sitting in the sofa and drinking.

"Thanks Ram for bringing her home" he said

"Its my responsibility uncle. Can we talk something if you are free?"

"Sure Kanna anytime" he said as he gestured me to have seat.

"I know you are experiencing losses. And you would have also known by now that Arjun is gonna get married soon, I hope you heard it from Vijay uncle"

He just gave a nod and keenly started listening.

"I love Jo and I would like to marry her. I can take over your business and help you out also." I told it finally.

"You are the perfect guy for her Ram. I'm glad by your proposal to marry her. But she has Arjun in her heart. I think you also know that." Dev said

"Yes uncle I do know and you do know that how Arjun is. Neither does he love her nor is into marrying her. And his alliance is gonna be finalized soon. So the chance of him marrying her is very less. Think about your company and think about how happy I would keep Jo. I really love her so much. I care so much about her. Give a thought over my proposal. You have time till her birthday party starts. If u consider accepting it, make it an announcement as her birthday gift. I have already spoken to my parents. They too love Jo as much as I do. The final decision is yours uncle. Good night then. I'm taking my leave. Bye uncle." I left before he could say anything.

"Arjun!" Screamed Vijay. "What time do you think it is. Where the hell were you roaming. Can't you be a little responsible like Ram. "

"Dad can you please stop. Why do you always have to compare me and Ram. He lives by his own rules and I live by mine. We have different approaches and different way of living. Don't compare us."

"Arjun listen. It is you, that is all left with me. You are my only family. If something happens to me, what will you do. I'm not getting younger day by day. It's time you take in responsibilities in your hand. "

"Dad I get it. But I'm so tired now. So please we will talk about this later. Just leave me alone." I said as I rushed to my room and fell on my bed and slept.

'Ram's words echoed in my ears. He was right. Every single word he uttered was the reality. But I don't know what Jo will react. How to convince Jo? Will she be able to bear that Arjun is getting married to someone else? Won't she be broken? How will I convey all these to her? I wish Devaki was here with me now. You left me in such a dilemma. Where are you Devaki? '

Dev closed his eyes reminiscing Devaki.
