Jack's POV

I waved bye to Carly as Mark and I got out of the car. Today was the first day of the second grade, so I was excited to try and make new friends.

"Hey, Mark?" I asked as I looked towards my best friend. "What are you looking forward to?" I added once I got his attention. Mark gave a large smile as he then spoke.

"I'm looking forward to meeting new people." Mark boasted, excited for the new school year. I had to agree with Mark on that, I was looking forward to this year as well. As we walked in, I noticed the looks the other kids were giving us.

'Is something wrong?' I thought to myself as we walked towards our classroom. Was this second grade, was it normal to have other kids stare when you walk in? A snicker brought me out of my thoughts.

"A pink shirt? Are you a girl?" One of the other boys asked Mark. Mark gave a look of confusion. Why would it matter what color shirt Mark wore?

"Hey, nothing is wrong with his shirt," I stood up to the other boy. The other boy seemed to just roll his eyes as he heard that.

"At least you two have each other because running to your mommy isn't cool." He spoke before he gave a smile not of happiness but of teasing, "No matter how many you have," He added before he headed into his class. I glanced at Mark with a frown.

"Let's just get to class, ok?" I asked as Mark nodded silently. "Hey, I like your shirt Mark," I added with a smile getting a smile back from the other. As we walked our way to the class I heard whispers of the other kids talking to one another. I tried to ignore them as I walked closely with Mark. Hopefully, today can get better, we just needed to stay away from that one kid. Once we got to class we hurried to our assigned seats we saw at the meeting before school started. We sat down in our seats, which were near each other thankfully. Class went by smoothly, as smoothly as class can on the first day. Unfortunately though at lunch, the other boy from earlier wouldn't stop making fun of our family. What was wrong with having a family like ours? They loved us and cared for us, isn't that what a family is meant to do? I tried to talk with Mark so we can ignore the other boy but eventually, it got too much. What was that one thing Carly said if we are having an issue go to the teachers? Oh, yeah, the teachers, they can help get this kid to stop picking on us, right? I tugged on Mark's shirt to motion to the group of teachers.

"I am gonna go see if they can help ok?" I whisper over to Mark,

"Maybe they can get him to stop," Mark spoke with a nod as he stayed at their small table while I got up from my seat. I made my way over to the group of teachers, that seemed distracted in a conversation. When I neared them I couldn't help but hear my teacher talk with the others.

"How will they ever become men if they are always surrounded by women?" The teacher gossiped with the other two teachers. One of the other teachers agreed fully.

"They need a male figure in their lives," Another of the teachers spoke up. They didn't seem to notice me but they were talking about us just like the boy was. What do we do if the teachers weren't an option to go to? I just turned on my heels and headed back to Mark to explain what I overheard. When I was in my seat next to Mark, I leaned over to whisper to him, I didn't want any of the other kids to overhear.

"The teachers were talking to each other, I don't think they will do much" I spoke sadly to my friend. Mark frowned at the news.

"Do you think we should tell the others?" Mark asked, meaning our family. I tried to think over any of the other options and, well, there wasn't any. I nodded a bit as I looked at Mark.

"After school, once we are home, we will tell them ok?" I said to Mark as we agreed to tell them once they were home and away from the school. Hopefully, they can help us with this problem that came up.

Mark's POV

"How was school, Kiddo?" Dil asked as Jack and I set our things on the table.

"Not great. There was a really mean boy who kept making fun of our family all day. And at lunch, Jack tried to tell a teacher but they were making fun of us too. Do we have to go back to school, Dilford?" I asked, growing really upset at the memories.

"I'm sorry, Buddy, but you two need to go to school. You need to get a good education so you can be the best versions of yourselves. Now, do you have any homework?"

"Yeah," Jack and I said at the same time.

"Well, let's do it then. GD will have our heads if you boys don't do your homework," Dil said as we sat down at the table and pulled out our worksheets. I was really bummed out that Jack and I had to go back to that mean place tomorrow. It felt like we were being sentenced to jail for something we didn't do.

Dilford's POV

After helping the boys finish their homework, I sent them to go play with Marcy and Sienna, knowing that the magician and the squirrel queen would be able to entertain them and cheer them up. I was livid about what had happened to them today. I knew that kids were cruel, but I never would have thought that grown-ass women would gossip about children behind their backs. What kind of 'professional' does that?

I found Carly watching T.V. with Rachel, the two of them fully engrossed in whatever was on the screen.

"Carly, can I talk to you?" I asked.

"Oh, hey, Dil. What's up?" She asked, finally noticing I was there.

"It's about the boys. Kids and teachers alike are picking on them. We gotta do something about this," I fumed.

"Why teacher... be mean... to little... angels?" Rachel groaned, clearly angry.

"I don't know, but Dil's right. Something has to be done about this," Carly said, turning off the T.V. The three of us continued to bicker about the circumstances until we had all gotten so fed up with this nonsense that Carly insisted Racheal and I get in the car. So we could... deal... with the issue. Like grown-ass women.

Carly's POV

Driving as angry as I was probably wasn't very safe, but as I said, I was too angry to care. I wanted justice for my sons, and I knew Dilford and Rachel wanted it too. We were all beyond livid. This was so far from ok, it was on the South Pole and Dil, Rachel and I were on the North Pole. When we finally arrived, Dil was demanding to speak with the boys' teacher and the principal. And with the looks in all of our eyes, nobody dared defy her. It didn't take long for the teacher to come scrambling into the principal's office, confused as all Hell as to why she had been called there.

"Our sons say you had some... less than kind things to say about our family. Do you have a problem with 14 women raising two boys, Ms. Smith?" I asked, trying to keep my cool, despite the fact that I was ready to kill her for even looking at my boys wrong. Ms. Smith went as white as a ghost.

"N-no, of course not, Ms. Brody. I-i said nothing of the sort," She stuttered.

"Boys... never... lie..." Rachel groaned angrily.

"Well, children tend to over exaggerate things," Ms. Smith tried to cover for herself.

"Not our boys. They have been through Hell and back and I'll be damned if this little bitch is going to put them through it again," Dil said, cocking her gun in Ms. Smith's face.

Rachel's POV

After getting home, I limped as fast as I could to the boys' room. I found them lying in bed with Jackie, watching a movie. I crawled in bed with them and Jack snuggled against me.

"Mean... teacher.. not be... mean... anymore..." I told him, rubbing his back. Nobody could be mean to our boys, an get away with it.
