My Brother's Enemy// Sweet Pea x Reader

Hypocrite

We stood in front of Southside High, chains and all.

My brother dropped his bike and came up to us.

"Well, well, well. The cavalry's finally here. Guess that means we've got Hiram's attention."

"Are you guys nuts? Chaining yourself to this place? They're gonna tear it down in two days, dude."

"Not unless Father Lodge wants the blood of nine young Serpents on his hands, he won't. We're not going anywhere." I interject, starting to shackle myself to the place.

"Go and tell your boss we said that."

It was morning and Betty came to check on us. 

I haven't sat down since we started and I won't until this is over. 

Sweets and Fangz stood by me and we were playing soccer with a pebble we found up till Fangz kicked it too far for our reach.

"Dammit, man."

I slumped against the wall, tired as ever.

Hours later the only ones left were Jughead and I.

I desperately needed to pee and so I did. Around the corner of the building.

His dad walks over to him. "Last man standing. What happened to no Serpent left behind?"

"I'm still here, FP. Just had to pee." I say as I return and zipped up my jeans.

He laughs. 

Jug continues, "The others were claimed by frostbite. They'll be back after some coffee. They'll warm up."

"Too bad. I got a dozen burgers. Guess they're for the both of you to share."

My mouth waters at the thought of a burger. FP tosses the bag at us. I wanna just take a bite but the thought of Jughead's face makes me stop.

My stomach rumbles loudly for the three of us to hear.

"Come on, guys. It's just the three of us. I'm not gonna tell anyone you broke your hunger strike."

Jughead reaches for the bag and grabs a burger out, tossing it to me. I give him a crooked grin and we sat on the edge of the staircase.

I swung my legs, enjoying two burgers while Jug had over double of that.

"So, uh...Just like clockwork, I got a call from Hiram."

"What's he offering this time?"

"You know how they're saying SoDale will mostly be low income housing? Well, apparently, there'll be a  few penthouses at the top. Would be more than enough space for all of us. Your mom, Jellybean... (Y/N), if you decide you wanna stay with us. Just like Jug always wanted."

"Just imagine me, standing on that balcony and looking over a prison... Right in the same spot that all my friends and I used to go to school. And Jellybean, growing up in a town where... Best hope, or only hope aside from getting the hell out, is to work at the prison? It's not right. What'd you say to him?"

"Nothing. I hung up on his ass and went to Pop's and got some burgers."

They give each other a side hug and Jug grabs another burger for himself.

"Get over here, you little booger. You're part of this family whether you like it or not." The older Serpent directs to me and we join in for side hugs, laughs, and some more burgers.

*Time Skip* 

We're still outside of Southside High. There were people holding signs and chanting and it made me feel deep inside, accomplished.
