The minute I pull into my driveway, my eyes widen in shock. Every single person in my family is here, and it's only six fifteen. Fuck, they all came home early. Getting out of my car, I rush up to the front door and burst through my house like a grenade.

I immediately stop in my tracks when every head in the room turns to glance my way. Dad looks pissed, Mom looks worried, and Skylar looks annoyed. Cameron is staring at me with pleading eyes and uncle Duke lets out a long, yet relieved sigh.

"Grace Anne Dolan, where the hell have you been?" Uh oh, I'm royally screwed if Mom is using my full name. I only get called that when I'm in major trouble.

"I was just-"

"You can't lie and tell us you were at Cameron's, we already interrogated him." Dad steps closer to me, his jaw is clenched and his eyes are dark. Grayson Dolan mad is one scary sight.

My eyes shift to my best friend, feeling bad that I dragged him into my lying game.

"I'm sorry, Gray. I tried to cover for you but like I said before, your mom scares me." His voice is rushed with panic and worry.

"What part of coming home right from class do you not understand!" Mom raises her voice.

"You and Skylar both disobeyed our rule, we raised you better than that." Dad lets out an angry breath.

"Would everybody just calm down? I'm clearly alive and well. I don't understand what the big deal is." I cross my arms over my chest, growing annoyed.

"The big deal is you went out when we specifically told you not to!" Mom runs her hands through her blonde locks, tugging on it with frustration.

"And again, you guys need to chill. You're freaking out for no reason."

"You're both grounded." Dad looks back at my sister.

"Grounded? Are you serious?" I speak up, my blood is beginning to boil at this unfair treatment. "I'm twenty one years old, you can't ground me. I'm not a little girl anymore."

"We are your parents and you lied to us, we can do whatever we want." Mom snaps, showing off her bitter attitude.

"This is totally not fair! Why are Skylar and I placed on lockdown for no reason? Why do we have to be punished for some assholes who decided to rob a bank?"

"Grace, calm down." Uncle Duke tries to ease my growing nerves.

"No, I'm sorry, but it's bullshit. What is so terrifying about the masked phantoms? They don't scare me." I state my words loud and clear.

Mom freezes for a moment while Dad keeps a stone expression. He slightly flinches at my words.

"Well, they should scare you. LA is not safe with them running around wreaking havoc." He slowly says.

"What are we all going to do? Move to another state until they get caught? Well, guess what, they won't get caught. They didn't get caught in the nineties, so why would they get caught now?" I look at uncle Duke and cock an eyebrow up.

"Would you just listen to us?" Mom speaks up, looking right at me. "When we tell you to do something, you're supposed to do it. End of discussion."

"Again, you guys aren't being fair. UCLA is nowhere near any banks, my campus didn't go on a lockdown just because one got robbed. You're being too overprotective."

"Well, maybe we have a good reason for wanting to keep you both safe." Dad looks between Skylar and I.

"Safe from what? Some assholes pulling a prank?" I scoff.
