The day was going great until Austin had an awful race, got shoved up into the wall, then went back out, and got wrecked again. He hasn't been doing well as of late and it's really taking a toll on him. He walked into our motorhome visibly angry and I hate seeing him like that.

"Hey, you did great today," I encourage him. "It was just a minor mishap, it'll be better next week."

"He did that purposefully," he snaps.

"Calm down Austin," I say, resting my hand on his shoulder.

"Everyone thinks I'm a shitty driver who ran out of talent! Can't you see that?!" he yells, throwing my hand off of him. Him doing that really caught me off guard because he isn't usually physical when he gets mad.

"Don't listen to them! You are still a great driver, you're just having a bad season. Only the best have a bad season occasionally," I say, trying to make him feel better.

"Yeah right, you don't know what it's like to do what I do," he states.

"My dad was a driver just like yourself, an outstanding driver at that. He was one of the best in his day, he went through a tough season and bounced back the next," I explain.

"That was back then Lacey! That's not like it is now!" he says angrily.

"Babe, it may not be the same but it still applies here," I say.

"You have no idea what this is like!" he yells.

"Yes I do, I sat back and watched my father go through the same thing when I was young! Do you have any idea what it was like to watch him go through that, and now to watch you go through it too?!" I question raising my voice.

"You don't really know what it's like L! You just stood by and watched it happen, you didn't experience it!" he exclaims. And that is the last straw.

"Okay I get you're mad about this but quit taking it out on me! You have yet to realize it but I'm the only person who will put up with this bullshit from you!" I snap. "And you've lost that."

"Don't even pull that shit with me Lacey," he states. His voice softened saying that despite still being visibly angry. It was clear that my leaving scared him to some degree.

"Goodbye Austin," I say grabbing some of my stuff then walking out.

I try to think of who to go to and I know right away, my best friend. I run to his hauler and knock on the door. He answers shortly after, all he does is look at me then pulls me in for a hug.

"What happened?" Noah asks.

"Austin has been doing bad lately as you could probably tell," I pause and he motions for me to carry on. "Well he took it out on me tonight."

"He didn't hurt you did he?" he asks worriedly.

"No, it's just we got into a fight and all he would do is yell at me," I say beginning to cry.

"That little-" I cut him off.

"Don't go fight him it'll just make this worse," I say.

"Fine, but you're staying with me at the track and back in Mooresville," he states.

"I know," I say smiling a bit.

"Also, we do need to tell your brother about this," he adds.

"I figured you'd say that," I sigh.

"He's your brother, he deserves to know what's going on in his little sister's life," he explains.

"Okay, we should go find him," I say quietly. He then pulls away and grabs my hand leading me to my brother's motorhome. We knock on the door and my sister-in-law answers it. "Hey Ames, is my brother here?"
