The next few weeks went on like normal. Okay well not normal.. more like better than normal.

Calum had become a regular in her schedule now, due to his charming looks and kind personality. He was probably one of the only males she had ever encountered with that was as genuinely nice as him and wasn't ugly.

Don't get her wrong, she would never date Calum. Even though she saw him as an attractive person that didn't mean he had the full ticket to her wanting to date him. He just wasn't that person for her, she only wanted to be friends with him, and he understood that.

Calum had been over to her place a few times within the last few weeks and he'd really taken a liking to her decor, and for that and many other things she was grateful. He enjoyed coming over, cause Scarlett was even more lovely when she was secluded behind her own walls.

They had become very close within the last few weeks and they both were very grateful for that.

"Scar!" Calum's voice roared playfully through the thinner walls of her apartment. They had been watching a marathon of The Vampire Diaries because they both had a undying love for the show, to be honest who wouldn't? Damon's affection for Elena even after she forgot every good thing Damon ever did was too addicting and neither one of the pair could get enough of it.

"What now?" She chuckled at the nickname and the enthusiasm in his voice. It was now evening and she was lighting some candles in the kitchen while the popcorn was popping.

"It's back! And hurry up with you're candle lighting, you're missing Stefan and Caroline's majorly awkward sexual tension." He came strolling into the kitchen witch a chuckle and pulled the popcorn out if the microwave and quickly poured it in a bowl when she put the lighter away in its original spot.

Calum threw away the bag instead of leaving it on the counter for later because he knew he would absentmindedly forget to do the action and when he saw her next she would make it evident he left a mess. She loved to joke with him about that kind of thing because he didn't like upsetting her.

She looked at him with a spontaneous look in her eye and wiggled her eyebrows at him and jokingly held her hand out for him to grab.

"We're missing Delena hour yanno," Calum chuckled at his choice of vocabulary, and hit his face with his palm and laughed lightly. He grabbed her hand playfully and led her to the couch quickly, but made it a point to not spill the popcorn on the laminate floor in the kitchen and especially not on her carpet in the living room.

"Holy shit!!" Calum had raised his voice at the end of the show, the credits starting. Scarlett laughed and covered her mouth while doing so, and turned towards him.

"Cal.. do you know what this means?" Scarlett had said excitedly, her brown eyes sparkling as she spoke. She was referring to a certain teddy bear Damon found outside sitting on a tree stump.

"Bonnie has got to be alive, holy fuck!" Calum calmed down but the ideas were still swarming through his mind. She chuckled and turned the tv off.

Jumping off the couch she flipped a light switch on and blew out the candles. The aroma of burnt wicks filled the kitchen and she set the glass bowl in the top rack of the dishwasher. She shut the door gently and started the wash, then turning off the light and rejoining Calum.

"I've got to go, I still need to pick up a few things from the market. I'll see you tomorrow Scar!" He said with a bright smile that made her smile on habit.

She pulled him in for an embrace and he wrapped his arms around her and then quickly let go.

"Alright Cal, have a safe drive home!" She called out as he gathered all his belongings and walked out her door. She still had a smile spread across her lips as she turned to go straighten the living room up. On her way there, a knock boomed through the air, making her pivot on her heels and answer the door in a flash.

She was assuming that it was Calum that had come back to tell her something that was essential to her, but when her bright brown eyes saw who was standing at her door, she felt her stomach start to rot.

She started to feel queazy and brought her arms to wrap them around herself, in the midst of powering through a conversation with this guy. When she caught a glimpse of his face, his lips spread into a smirk.

"Hey, I am sorry but I was just wondering if you'll go out with my friend?" He quickly said. As the words left his mouth she heard stiffled giggles come from down the hall.

"Is that so?" She raised an eyebrow at the tall muscled boy. His skin was tan and looked soft from her angle. The muscles flexed as he crossed his arms over his torso.

"Yeah, he's whipped for you. Such a fucking tulip if you ask me." He scoffed and rolled his eyes in thought. He licked his lips and chuckled at her facial expression.

She wasn't buying his crap anytime soon.

"I'm sorry but I have an early class tomorrow.. I need to head to bed, so I'm going to close the door now. Have a good night." She flashed a fake smile his way, one what made the one dimple of hers become more prominent, and started to close the door.

He rolled his eyes again and started mocking her in a funky voice to make her sound stuck up. She sighed and stopped the door with her left arm and leaned her head to the left against the door while her left hand grabbed the knob.

She was just ready to complain about how he's been nothing a jerk to him since her encounter with him but she just masked it.

"No, I will not go out with your friend, He doesn't know me and I'm sure I don't know him. Now if you may excuse me," She kindly cleared her throat and he only chuckled. She heard a couple of males shouting.

"Ashton! Ashton!!" They kept yelling throughout the halls of her once quiet apartment building. She internally sighed and waited for the mystery boy to do something rather than just standing outside her door.

So that was his name... Ashton.

She didn't like the fact that this boy, Ashton, knew where she lived; because where she lived was her piece of serenity apart from the world. She did everything she could to stay out of people's days to avoid becoming accustomed to them. But there was just something about this boy to her.

He was just something different. He was intriguing, handsome. He was a man. He, he was just peculiar and she liked that. She could start to feel the guilt for wanting to be rude to him earlier.

She smiled genuinely at him. "Goodnight Ashton." She sweetly said and shut the door softly. He looked hypnotized when she closed the door, like what she had just said was something that he was waiting for, but she shook it off because they barely knew each other.

She went to bed shortly later.

Ashton shook himself out of his trance, and walked himself back to his apartment right next door..
