>>> Plan 11: Be a Fucking Casanova
Will Xaviers
Once we were out of the mall, Vanessa walked to the back of the mall where there was a parking area. She turned towards me, finally, as she leaned against the wall. Tilting her head up, her stony eyes connected with mine.
Damn, be cool, don’t say something incredibly stupid.
Breathe, you got this. You’re William fucking Xaviers.
“Okay, I know I am an ass for eavesdropping but I was really confused about the whole almost kiss situation and kind of annoyed that you had hit me with the book.” She looks so cute flustered. Focus you douche. “And I don’t think I am out of your league, in fact I think you are out of mine. I know that I don’t know a lot about you right now but I would like to know that stuff. I won’t say cheesy shit about how you are different for me from the other girls; instead I will prove it to you if you just give me one chance.” I stopped and breathed in heavily. “I’m fine with just as friends, just one chance. I won’t even try to kiss you until you want me to or something.”
During my reply, Vanessa had folded her arms in front of her and started admiring the pavement. She was making circles with the tip of her sneaker. Both of us didn’t speak and I had an urge to move the hair on her face behind her ear but I stayed in my position, staring at her with pleading eyes.
Will, you sounded like a fucking Casanova.
Jake, you asshole, stop eavesdropping.
I guess eavesdropping is every werewolf’s trait.
Go the fuck away.
“Okay….” It was basically a whisper but I heard it and my face broke out in a grin. “Friends. I guess I did over react, kind of.”
Casanova act worked, Silly Willy.
Fuck off.
When she looked up at me with soft eyes, her lips turned into a small smile and in my relief, I grabbed her and pulled her into a hug, my chin resting on the top of her head. She inhaled sharply but I ignored it and mumbled five words.
“You won’t regret this, Nessa.”
Oh god, you are so damn whipped. Mates suck.
She stiffened but didn’t pull back and I could hear her heart pounding as fast as mine. The hug lasted for slightly more seconds before I pulled back and grinned at her goofily. Her cheeks reddened slightly but she returned the smile.
A week passed and I fell into a normal routine at the bookshop. Vanessa got more comfortable with me and laughed whenever I tried to tell a lame joke. During one such situation, she confessed how she weirdly enjoyed lame jokes more than normal ones. Her eyes had this glint in them whenever she was going through the books, as if she was in her safe haven and the corner of her lip always turned up into a lopsided smile when she had a good book in her hands. Blondie came to the shop twice, both times looking at me with a mixture of disgust and amusement. She even made me trip when I passed her.
Bitch.
Vanessa noticed this and instead of saying something, I knew she was stifling her laughs.
Such a caring mate, I have.
Finally, on Monday when I was sleep deprived and had already been scolded by my father and math’s teacher, I was on verge of killing someone. Kyle and Lacey remained out of my way and Jake just seemed confused as if lost in his own world so when during my shift at the bookshop, Cameron tripped me again, I lost it. I glared at her when she snorted lightly.
