>>> Plan 12: Be a Stealth Machine

Will Xaviers

So maybe the leaning in and invading Vanessa’s personal bubble had not been the best move on my part but I was pretty sure she liked me because I did have an effect on her.

“Stop thinking so fucking much about it, brother.” Kyle chimed in, stuffing some crisps into his face as he resumed the COD game he was playing.

“Yeah sure, don’t be hypocritical; I remember how you felt when you met Lacey. Jake had to knock you out so that you won’t go stalking her in the middle of the night.” He grimaced at my words, losing his focus and thus getting shot in the game. He cursed out loud before hurtling a cushion towards me.

“Look what you made me do! I was playing so awesomely!” He exclaimed, taking a gulp from his soda and glaring at me again.

What kind of a fucking future Alpha is he?

“Jeez, you big baby, don’t you have any Alpha stuff to attend to?” With my words, he suddenly spurted out his soda and stood up, spilling his crisps in process.

“Shit fuck shitty fuckity fuck.” He cursed out, quickly turning off the game and drinking up his soda in one huge gulp. I smirked at him and he threw me a dirty look.

“Well aren’t those just colorful words.” I remarked drily, receiving another glare.

“Shut the fuck up and go back to wallowing pathetically about your mate, you asshole.”

Woah easy there! Someone’s pissed!

“Dad called me for training today…..half an hour ago.” He explained, running out of the door like he was on fire. I snorted and slumped onto the couch.

Thank god, no Alpha responsibilities for me.

I stayed in my place, thinking about all my encounters with Vanessa until I couldn’t take the frustration anymore and decided to take a run. Stripping out of my clothes in the trees, I quickly transformed into my wolf, hearing the bones break and readjust, it still stung every time I shifted but it wasn’t that bad. Stretching out my limbs, I tore through the woods, running at a fast pace, dodging the trees and animals as their scents surrounded me. After some time, I slowed down, my ears suddenly alert of some unfamiliar voices. Making use of my stealth, I walked closer, the voices getting clearer.

I am the stealth machine, bitches.

“So she is here?”  A feminine voice asked in an enthusiastic voice. “Cameron Golightly?”

“Well why do think I told you she is here.” A masculine voice replied, I could almost hear him roll his eyes while saying that. This was werewolf territory so I was surprised to find anyone here. I tried to catch their scents and when I got nothing, I growled. There was only one type of creature with no scent to define them and those were definitely not allowed on werewolf territory. Blood suckers.

Kyle, Dad, there are vampires on our territory.

What are they doing?

KILL THEM!

Kyle, first we negotiate and then-

We decide, I know. I was just messing with ya, dad.

Guys, So what do I do?

Listen and see if they are a threat.

Staying in my place, I angled my ears closer, hoping my scent wouldn’t be recognized quickly. I heard some shuffling of feet and a twig crack.

“We need to talk to her as soon as we can.” The feminine voice said, sounding weirdly dazed. I turned a little so I could see their figures. There stood a guy and girl, the guy was pacing back and forth. The masculine voice came from the girl who stood leaning on a big trunked tree. I stifled a laugh at her voice but didn’t dare make a sound.

“I know that, Jared.”

“Of course you do, you are smartass Danny.” His squeaky reply made the girl exclaim loudly.

“My name is Danielle, Not Danny, you betch.” She stated, slapping him on the back on his head.

Well, this is a weird couple.

Suddenly, someone had grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and slammed me against a tree, making me let out a howl. I growled and snapped at them before my eyes settled on a very infamous blonde vampire. Her unusual hair swished silently as she glared at me, telling me to quiet down. I threw her a dirty look and she let go of me, letting me slide down to the ground. I realized that the other two bloodsuckers had started walking.

“Oh relax, no furry butt werewolf will bother killing you.” Danielle said, punching the boy on the shoulder who seemed paler even for a vampire. Cameron gestured for me to stay as she started walking towards them but like usual, I didn’t listen to her and walked forward.

No way in hell am I listening to a mosquito human version.

She scowled at me but didn’t say anything as I fell in step beside her. I would have loved if the vampires had attacked us but the whole time I was following them, they talked like a bunch of morons. They also remained oblivious to Cameron and I even though she snorted more than once while listening to their conversation. In the end, they just walked out of the woods, heading towards some ice cream outlet.

Well, this was exciting…..not. Did that make me sound like a chick?

I let out a bored groan and started making my way back to the house. Letting my father and Kyle know of what had happened through the psychic link, I looked back at the vampire who was looking at the ground in concentration.

“When are you going to tell Vanessa about your little furry problem?” Cameron asked, surprising me with her random question. I was expecting her to talk but that was not a question I was hoping for. “Though since you can’t exactly answer in your fur body, go shift back and then tell me. Remember to wear clothes; I don’t want to be scarred with your ‘stuff’”

You aren’t worthy enough to see my body, girl.

I mentally rolled my eyes before nodding at her. When we were near to the backyard, I gestured for her to stay and went to quickly shift back, slipping into my clothes.

“See this is how we follow orders, when I tell you to stay, you stay too.” Cameron said slowly, sarcasm dripping from her every word. I flipped her off but answered her previous question.

“I honestly don’t know when I’ll be telling Vanessa. Right now I am just focusing on how to get her to actually like me.”

Which is fucking hard.

“Oh, she likes you.” Her reply made me look up in surprise and I could see her eyes flash with guilt mixed with shock which proved that she wasn’t supposed to reveal that. I grinned widely, suddenly feeling giddy at the thought of Vanessa actually returning my feelings towards her. “I…uh-….just pretend I idnt say anything.”

Oh hell naw.

“What?” I looked at her dubiously, She actually seemed a bit scared. “Are you actually afraid?”

A vampire afraid of a teenager, well then.

Her eyes narrowed at me and she sneered, “Have you ever faced the wrath of a best friend? My Best friend.”

When I kept staring at her blankly, she continued “Your mate has a short temper and that temper can make you end up on a death bed.”

I cleared my throat awkwardly before recounting her words and smiling again.

Temper or not, she still likes me! Me! My chance with her keeps getting bigger!

“Oh my god, stop smiling. She doesn’t like that you.” Her words just made my grin wider until I realized something and it dropped.

“Why were those vampires looking for you?”
