Chapter Six
Jay
"Jay! Wait up!" I hear someone call from behind me as I walked from fourth hour to lunch. I already knew that it was Jake, as it was a man's voice, so it couldn't belong to Blair.
I stop in the middle of the crowded hallway, turning around to see Jake's scronny figure walking quickly to catch up with me. "Is it true?" He asks, once he has reached me.
"Is what true?" I question, not knowing what he meant.
"Are you really going to fight John today at lunch?" He asks. (AN: What is with all of these 'J' names, Justin, Jay, Jake, John... Goodness...)
"No, who told you that I was?" I wanted to know if John was the one saying this, because then I fear that I might actually have to fight him.
"I heard John and his friends talking about it in Science last hour..." Jake says, taking a seat at the picnic table that we always sit at for luch. Sometimes Blair would join us, but more often than not, she had cheer practice during lunch.
"Well, if he tries to start a fight, I will try my hardest not to fight him." I assure him, really hoping that John would just leave me alone.
I really didn't want to fight him, but he was one of those possesive boyfriends. You know the ones who think, 'Well, if I can't have her, no one can.'
"Do you know if Blair had cheer today?" I ask Jake, already knowing that he would have no clue. He was always intimidated by her. Though I could never figure out why... As far as I was conserned, Blair was one of the nicest people on this planet.
He shook his head, telling me that he didn't know.
I was hoping that she didn't, because I knew that if she was there, John would go a lot easier on me, on the off chance that he did decide that he wanted a fight.
"Uhh, Jay. I really think that you should go hide in a bathroom stall or something." Jake says, looking over my shoulder.
I don't ask any questions, but just look behind me to see John walking up to me.
"I'm not going to hide from him," I tell Jake as John walks closer, "if he wants to fight, then I'll fight him."
Blair
"Okay, have a good day ladies!" My cheer coach says, dismissing us from practice.
I walk from the gym to the dressing room, along with the other cheerleaders. I never really got along with any of them.
They were never rude to me. It was the exact opposite actually, but that was only because I was one of their kind.
"So, I heard your boyfriend was going to be beat up today." I hear Kayla's whinny voice say from the locker next to me.
I have to think for a second, trying to figure out who she was talking about.
My eyes get wider in fear, "Jay?" I ask her.
"Yeah, I heard your ex, John, was going to totes kick his ass." She laughs, "It's not like he didn't deserve it, he's a major dork! I don't know why you even look at him."
As mad as I was about what she was saying about Jay, I didn't have time to worry about it. I needed to find out what was happening with the two of them.
"Well, did you hear when, and why?" I ask her as I change from my cheer uniform, to the dress that I had picked out this morning.
"Yeah, he said at lunch and it was because he totally took you from him." She says.
