The Xiao family organized a bridal party for Xinyi because in the coming days. He will join the royal family of Meng. Lady Mo Chou was the one organizing the party and inviting a close relative for the gathering.
"My dear Xinyi please get home early for your bridal party." Lady Mo Chou said.
"Muqin, why do I have to attend the party? It's the bridal party." Xinyi replied. He just could not comprehend why it has to be a bridal party when it could just be a party.
"Stop whining Xinyi. This party is for you because you will join the royal family and we won't be seeing you often." Lady Mo Chou said.
Lady Mo Chou was getting emotional and her eyes become watery and she is about to cry.
"I can't help organizing the party it's because this will probably be the last moment we could spend time with you. When you've married already to Crown Prince Zhou Tian you can't just come and go as you please when you're already in the palace. Both I and your father won't be able to see you easily because we have to ask permission from the Emperor and your husband. Can't you see the possible situation in the future?" Lady Mo Chou added.
Xinyi was sighing because he could not refuse his mother for planning the party even if he approves of it or not. He just has to give in to please his mother. His mother has a point that they won't be able to him more often to do a task in their stores.
The next morning Lady Mo Chou personally took charge of preparing the food, tables that needed for the party. Xinyi was not around because he was busy managing the store. He does not want to be part of it but he has to attend to please his mother.
Xinyi took his time to avoid attending the party. He just wants to show at the party for just a couple of hours and then retire to go to sleep early. Lady Mo Chou has got other plans. He ordered one of the maidservants to fetch Xinyi and brought the carriage for him to ride it.
Xinyi was forced to ride the carriage going back home even if it's against his will. Xinyi disembarks from the carriage and went inside to great his family and relative.
"Dajia hao." Xinyi said.
Everyone turns their heads to look at the man of the hour. His relative went to congratulate him one by one for the upcoming wedding. After the greetings they talk to each other taking turns to talk to everyone that we're there for Xinyi's Bridal Party.
"Everyone listen... Let's toast for the success and happiness of my son's wedding. May the couple stay longer and love each other till death do they part." Lord Qin uttered.
Xinyi trying to go with the flow by raising his small cup to toast with his family but he was clearly is discomfort by rolling his eyes and moving his mouth from side to side.
"What's with that attitude, Xinyi?" Lady Mo Chou said.
"You already know that I don't like the party let alone inform our relatives about the wedding. I want it to be discreet and low profile. I'm sure the relative of some concubine may already start to plot against me." Xinyi replied.
"You have a point in there, my son. Duibuqi. I was not able to analyze the situation but it's too late already. I'm just gonna tell our maidservants to close our entrance gate for us to enjoy the party privately." Lady Mo Chou said.
"What can I say it's done and nothing I can do about it? Mother can you tell our relative to keep our party tone down and tell them not to spread anything about this wedding until the wedding itself." Xinyi said.
