Conners POV:
"Hey babe, have you decided what movie we are going to see yet," Maddie asked as pull up to the restaurant to celebrate our two year dating anniversary that was three days before.

"We can go see whatever you want to see, this night is all about you," I say as pull into the parking place and turn the car off.

"I just hate to make you sit through another chick flick when we never get to see what you want to see," she says sweetly as I open the door for her to get out of the car.

"I really am fine seeing whatever you want," I say reassuring her.

"Ok," she says as I take her hand and lead her inside.

We had finished our dinner several minutes early and where just enjoying each other's company, when my phone kept going off with the same number. "Who keeps calling you, do you need to go answer it?" She asked with concern.
"I don't know it's an Alabama number and it's called several times, maybe I should answers it," I say as I pick the phone up from the table and make my way outside to answer it in the quiet.

"Hello!" I say into the phone.

"Yes, is this Conner Anderson?" The lady on the line says.

"Yes, it is how can I help you?" I ask puzzled as to who this could be.

"Mr. Conner this is Dr. Hill we have called to inform you your brother Bradley Anderson was in a car accident, and he passed away on the way to the hospital, I'm so sorry!" She says and all I could do was drop to my knees.

"How, what happened?" I mange to get out.

"He was a passenger in car with the Conners, he wasn't wearing his seat belt and was ejected for them car," she says.

"Did they make it?" I ask barley above a whisper.

"The girl is the only survivor, but I'm not a liberty to say more, we need you to come to the hospital to identify the body since we have yet to get your father on the phone." She informs me.

"I'll be there as quick as I can," I say before hanging up the phone.

"What wrong," Maddie asked as I finally making it back inside.

"He is gone!" Was all I could manage to get out before the tears started flowing again.

"Who?" She asked as stand in front of me and pull me into her arms trying to calm me.

"Bradley!" I say as I pull away form her. "I have to go, I'll take you home but then I have to got to Alabama." I say in a rush as I quickly put the money on the table and rush out the door and to the car.

Several hours later....
I get to the hospital and see my dad making his way out the door. I sit and wait for him to get in his car and then I quickly make my way inside the hospital.

"I'm Connor Anderson, I was told to come here," I say to the lady at the desk.

"Ok sir just sit over there and I will call the dr to come out and see you." She says pointing to some chairs across from the desk. After sitting for what felt like an eternity, Dr. Hill finally came out to talk to me.

"Mr. Anderson, I'm afraid your dad already identified the body and the corner is on the way so I can't let you go to him." She say apologizing.

"What about Ella, Is she alright?" I ask with concern.

"Im really not supposed to tell you may information sir, but since you have already been through much I'll take you to see her." She says as she begins to lead me down the hall to the ICU rooms. "I'm giving you fair warning she I beat up bad and had some cut to her face, but she I lucky to be alive." She say just as we making it to her room.

"What's going to happen to her?" I say with concern and she stops before opening the door and turns around to look at me.

"This girl has nobody so unless someone decides to take her in I guess she will spend the remainder months until her 18th birthday in a group home somewhere and then there isn't any telling what will happen to her." She says honestly.

"I'll take her, I say quickly without even think about it.

"Are you sure I mean taking on a 17 year old especially one that just lost everyone and everything she cared about in one day," she says in a questioning tone.

"I understand that, but I'm not going to let my brothers best friend and a girl I have know almost her whole life got into foster care," I say in a demanding tone.

"Well ok then, I'll get all the paper work drawn up. But for now she could use you in there," she says pointing to the door before turning and leaving me.

I sit beside her bed careful not to wake her and I study her closely. The dr wasn't lying about how bad she was banged up, and yet she still looked like the same Ella I had last seen four years ago but just older. I reach out and grab her hand and she slowly stirs and looks at me.

"Connor, what's going on and why am I here the doctor want tell me anything because I'm a minor," she says her voice raspy.

"Ella do you remember being in an accident?" I ask not sure of what all she remembers.

"Kinda, I know it was raining and I remember being in a lot of pain and then I woke up here," she says sadly.

"Ella they didn't make it, your the only one that survived the accident," I say slowly hoping the news wouldn't hit her to hard.

"What, no that's not true," she cries out as she starts ripping off all of her wires and tries to get out of the bed only to almost collapse in the floor if I had not been there to catch her.

"Ella you have to calm down and get back in the bed, you are pretty banged up and I can't have you getting hurt any worse," I say as I place her back in the bed.

"I have to go find them, I know your lying they can't be dead," she say getting even more worked up as her crying was making it hard for her to breath.

"Shhh it's going to be ok, I got you and I promise I'm going to make sure your ok," I say as I climb onto bed beside her, hold her tight and let her cry into my chest until the crying stopped and she drifted back to sleep from exhaustion.

"I don't know how and I don't know when, but I promise everything will be ok someday soon, we I'll get through this!" I say to her as she slept I'm my arms and not realizing just how exhausted I was until soon sleep over came me.
