"Romeo! Romeo!" I heard a voice call when I was walking home. It was a long day of rumors and things about the whole Cassidy and rejection thing. I turned around and saw Cassidy. Sighing, I just kept walking. I was hoping that she thought I didn't hear her. I heard footsteps behind me and rolled my eyes.

"Romeo." She said once she finally caught up to me. I decided to try not to look at her, and just kept looking forward.

"Nice little lie you got going on there." I said, not even looking at her.

"Well, I couldn't let everyone think I got rejected. I mean, Cassidy Adams does not get rejected."

"Why do you try so hard?" I asked.

"Because."

"Because why?" I stopped walking as she did and impatiently awaited my answer.

"Because, I can get any guy in this school." I rolled my eyes and started walking again. "But you."

"Cassidy please, we're 12 years old." I replied, I was bored of this conversation.

"Exactly, why can't you just go to the dance with me then?" I just kept walking. I felt like a douche, but I didn't want to go to the dance with her. Plain and simple. Plus, it's just a dance. It's not like we've been dating for a couple years and I rejected her marriage proposal. The way she's acting, I basically did.

I arrived at school the next day with Sam. I didn't want to walk alone because I was scared some of Cassidys 'posse' would come and murder me. We took our seat in class, right as the bell rang. Mr. Parkinson handed out slips of paper.

"This year, in preparation for the Winter Formal, we'll be doing ballroom dancing. You'll learn three different types of ballroom, the foxtrot, the waltz and the tango." Mr Parkinson took a deep breath while all the girls cooed at this.

"On the sheet of paper I gave you, write down three people you would be comfortable dancing with." He finished. I looked around to see majority of the girls looking, no staring at me. "Hand in your choices before recess, and I'll pair you up accordingly."

I looked around the classroom. Maddy, Sara and Rachel were all turned around talking to each other. Maddy and I used to be really good friends. She's also pretty.

I didn't know Sara too well, but she seemed chill. She didn't seem like she would get all nervous just because of how popular my dad is.

Rachel. Rachel and I semi-dated in year five. You know, the type of "dating" where you sit together on the bus, and that's like a really big deal. Yeah, that's basically it. I saw her turn her head and look at me. She smiled, tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, and went back to writing.

Girls are weird.

"So mate, who did you choose?" I asked Sam.

"Cassidy, Nicole and Melissa." He replied. "You?"

"Rachel, Maddy and Sara."

"Oh you didn't put Cassidy?"

Ugh. "No, why would I?" I replied.

"I dunno, just curios."

This was going to be interesting.
