Ji-eun asked me out and I said yes.
I surprised myself too but I genuinely liked spending time with her at the dance. I'm not sure how long we'll last though, I just finished apply for all the best colleges in sunny ol California and if I somehow get accepted, it'd be hard keeping a relationship steady with the entire Pacific Ocean between us.
"Hey," she grinned, flashing her perfect pearly whites.
I returned the smile and got up to pull the chair out for her, chivalry isn't dead. She laughed at my action and folded her dress under her legs before sitting down.
"So what do you want to eat?" I handed her a menu. "Everything here is good but I personally love their burgers."
Ji-eun gave the menu a quick scan before putting it down, "I'll have the burger then."
"I'm placing my trust on you Jungkook," she winked slyly.
I chuckled and placed my hand over her's gently, "You can trust me, add fries in between the burger and oh my god, it is pure heaven."
Ji-eun nodded, amusement flickering in her eyes, "I never took you for such a big foodie, it's cute."
My cheeks began to heat up but thankfully, the waitress appeared at our side.
"What can I get for you today?" she smiled politely, her blond ponytail swayed from side to side.
"Just two of your house burgers and two chocolate milkshakes," I said, handing the waitress the menu.
"Oh, I don't do milkshakes," Ji-eun interjected. The waitress was took note of this before walking off.
I raised my eyebrow, "Why not?"
She seemed to be embarrassed as she placed a hand over her flat stomach, "Just booked a modeling job and if I want to keep this body, then I have to continue working for it."
"Oh congratulations Ji-eun!" I congratulated her. "Don't forget me when you're modeling for Vogue."
Ji-eun waved me off, "I could never forget you Jungkook, not with that face of yours anyway. Have you considered modeling?"
"Nooo," I shook my head violently. "No, definitely not. I want to be a doctor, I want to help people."
The girl put a hand over her heart, "Aw, that's really sweet. Which university are you planning to study at?"
I smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of my neck as if I was embarrassed to tell her, "I'm actually planning to go to study in the States."
"Jungkook!" Ji-eun exclaimed. "That's amazing! Have you applied yet?"
"Yup, Harvard," I beamed, feeling a little proud of myself.
The grin on Ji-eun's face grew, "Here, I thought I was making it but look at you, putting me to shame here Kook."
I cringed a little at the nickname reserved only for you. She didn't seem to notice though as the food arrived at our table. The rest of the night went smoothly and at the end, we planned another date.
I think I really like her Winter. You've got Yoongi, maybe it's time I find myself someone too.
