"So what are you goals this year?" Jacob asked while he tried to look at my cards. Katherine, Thalia, Jacob and I were playing BS the card game.
"Well my goals are to kick your ass."
"That's BS." I smirked and pulled the card up and it was a 10. He squinted his eyes at me and I shoved the pile of cards at him. He through them up in the air.
"You know your going to have to pick it up right?" I raised an eyebrow at him
"I know." He pouted and we all giggled
"No but seriously Halley, what are your New Year's Resolution?" Thalia nudge my arm with her elbow
"Well am not sure." Katherine, Thalia, and Jacob starred at me motionless
"What?"
"How are you not sure? Everyone has a New Year's Resolution!" Katherine said overly dramatic
"I guess am not everyone." I shrugged
"But you gotta at least have one." Jacob said as he bended down under my bed to get another card.
"Fine I will get back to you guys once I have one." I stood up
"Where are you going?" Thalia asked me as I grabbed my purse off my purse rack.
"Apparently, I have to go talk to Colton."
"Oh okay good luck."
"Thanks."

"Look Halley am so sorry I should have listen to you. Is just that I thought you-"
"I wanna breakup." His eyes widen
"What?"
"I just don't know. If you were really my boyfriend you would have believed me. I mean I would have believed you or at least hear you out."
"Your right and am sorry. Can we start over?" He open his arms.
"Sure, but as friends."
"As long as your in my life." He smiled and I gave him a hug.

I was back at my house watching Netflix. My phone buzzed.
Brittany- Party at my place at 8:00
Brittany is throwing a New Year Party? Someone lightly knocked on my door.
"Come in." My mom came in and sat on the edge of my bed
"Honey I need you to do me a favor."
"Sure what is it?"

"But Halley this is for my job, I can get a raise and work less hours. All you have to do is show up say 'Hi' to some people and take a date." My mom really could you use the raise and work less hours...
"Fine. But who's my date?" I sighed
"Um..Adam." My eyes widen
"What? Hell to the no!" I jumped up
"Halley watch your language. Adam doesn't have a date and he is going to go because Margie needs him."
"Mom!" I whined. Am acting like 5 year, old but like Adam really?
"Thank you honey." She kissed me on the cheek. She is stalling. She is literally going to to drag me out even if I refuse to go.
"Wear something fancy. The party starts at 7:30. So I expect you to be ready at that time." She blew a kiss and I rolled my eyes. She left my room. And as as she did, I screamed into my pillow. This is going to be so awkward.
