They couldn't talk. There will be a lot of time for that later, she thought. Stevie couldn't believe she had Lindsey back, he was there with her, they held hands, he look and smiled at her, she couldn't ask for more at that moment. She understood a long way lay ahead of them until he would fully recover, but she didn't want to concentrate on that part just yet.
After some time, Julie came in to inform Stevie Lindsey's doctor wanted to have a word with her. She nodded and reluctantly let go off him and left. The nurse stayed to check if everything was fine.
"You're already getting better, Mr Buckingham, aren't you?" She said, after noticing how his eyes followed Stevie out. "She spent every day here, you know. At first I tried telling she should go home and look after herself, but she didn't listen. She's a stubborn little thing, isn't she. I don't need to know you two personally, to know just how much you two love each other and it's a beautiful thing. Whatever happens, don't let go off each other." Julie said, seeing as there was nothing left for her to do and went outside.
Meanwhile, Stevie took a seat in Dr. Phillips office. "How are you, Ms Stephanie?"
"I..." She had to lie. "I'm fine. I can't begin to tell you how I'm feeling right now."
"I wish you could have come sooner, I tried reaching you, but..."
"Yes, the nurse told me." She cut him off.
"Well, but you're here now. And I have to tell you, your husband is a true fighter. It's astonishing he has lived through two heart attacks alone, but the fact he said a few words right after coming out of come is just unbelievable. I can't pretend and say to you that it's going to be easy, because it's not. He's very weak physically, you shouldn't be alarmed if he can't walk or hold things, or well, look after himself, at the moment and even for a while, this is completely normal."
"How long is that going to go on for?"
The doctor shrugged his shoulders. "Every patient's road to recovery is different, but as of now, things are looking bright. I can't answer you about how long it will take your husband to come back to how he was before the accident, but I can promise you he will get there."
"When will he be able to go home?"
"I thought you might want to know that. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but Mr Buckingham has to stay with us for a couple of weeks at least. We don't want something else happen to him."
Stevie remained silent for a long moment. "Is he trully going to be ok?"
"Absolutely." Dr. Phillips assured.
"I just... He held my hand..." Her eyes welled up. "I couldn't live if something went wrong. I need him, he's... He's everything to me."
The doctor was taken aback a little by her sudden rush of emotions. "He wouldn't leave you. Your name was the first thing that he said when he opened his eyes."
She was disgusted with herself, she loathed herself at that moment. What was she thinking seeing Andrew the previous night, telling him all those things? He was right, she hated the idea of being alone, of losing Lindsey and he was there, she could touch him and he could hold her, something Lindsey wasn't able to do at that time.
She wiped her tears away and composed herself. "I'm sorry you had to see me like this."
"No, it's only natural."
"I need to go back."

Stevie had called Sara to tell her the good news and she was at the hospital in no time. She let out everything she had been holding inside for the entire time of Lindsey being in a come, she told him she loved him and how scared she was thinking about losing him, she told him about how school was and what new records she bought. He listened carefully to everything and made sure to reply once he was strong enough.
