prompt - obligation
a/n - okay this poem is way better when i'm reading it out loud but here it is anyways(i mean no one reads this who am i talking to)
anyways my idea was this girls my first bf/gf is her true love, hence the only person she dates. and then they get married but since she's never had any experience being in love (except with this one person) she's also kinda marrying the voice in her head saying shit like "could someone else make me happier?" "would life be better with someone else?" etc. but you can't divorce someone because you want to make sure they're the one for you (i mean you could but talk about heartbreak damn). okay so point is you're obligated to stay with the person you married blah blah here's the poem.

1. The day I met you the earth froze. The sun was beneath my cheeks, wind stealing my breath away, and the moon was pulling us together.
2. I was your favorite color, trapped at the bottom of the crayon box. Broken and battered, yet you peeled back my layers, let all I had to offer stare back, and drew me into your masterpiece.
3. If I could, I'd pull you into the blizzard and whisper your name to the snowflakes, just so you could feel my love melt into you.
4. You speak with the elegance of lace gloves and red wine.
5. You crown my quietness with diamonds and use your reflection to read my mind.
6. I know we moved fast but, our garden of roses blooms each year, and I don't have the guts to dig them up.
7. Frankly, I can't imagine showcasing anyone else's love on my finger.
8. I can only write so much about one person, but there's a contradiction on the top shelf of our closet. A box of diaries radiating your magic, too powerful for anyone but us to touch.
9. We walk through love and run through fights. Our anger fades into yearning for the first night you come back to bed.
10. 16 years ago we stood on a cliff and dove into each other, and now that there's no veil to blind me you've convinced me that this is the only love I'll ever need.
