"You seriously don't believe that I let you win that one?!"

Rolling your eyes, you look the dark haired boy who had been so confident of his win that he hadn't even realize the obvious bad move that you had made.

"Who makes that kind of move y/n, I mean seriously."

He scratches the top of his head, a smile stretching across his face once he finally looks back at you.

"Exactly, it doesn't make any sense to not do it on purpose shikamaru.

You throw your hands up in the air as your eyes widen in annoyance.

How had such a smart kid like him not realize that you had allowed him to win?

"The obvious move that I could have made that would have won the whole game—-"

You grab a shogi piece, moving it across the board. Your gaze watching shikamaru's body tense up as he finally realizes what you had done.

His gaze meets with yours before a faint smile begins creeping on his lips.

"You let me win, what a drag."

"Oh my god it's about time you realized it pea for brains!"

Shikamaru roles his eyes. He really hated when people let him win things. He never wanted to admit anyone would go easy on him. Because of this, he had decided to quit the game.

"Well, now that I know that my best friend would lose just to make me feel better, I think I'm going to bed."

He shakes his head, trying his hardest to play off being annoyed with feeling exhausted.

"Later y/n. We both need to get some rest."

Your smile drops. He should have known at this point that you could read him like a book.

"Wait, shikamaru!"

"Hm—what?"

He looks down at you, his eyes widening as he listens to what you had to say in horror.

"Technically since I let you win... means that I actually won."

You tuck your hair behind your ears, blinking a few times in a row dramatically.

"Yeah right loser. I still won regardless."

He takes a couple steps away from you, forcing the smile he had felt trying to cross his lips away.

"Admit it! You lost to a girl!"

You jump onto your feet, trailing behind shikamaru like a small child.

"What a drag."

"UGHHH.. I'm so tired of being on this stupid mission already, when are we going back to the village?"

Naruto crosses his hands over his chest before taking a long deep breath. He had been walking for the last four hours straight, so no you wouldn't blame him for wanting to be back at the village if you were there. You'd probably be in the same boat as he had been If you were to be completely honest. But you weren't, as much as you wished you were, you couldn't be, and it sucked.

"Stop your whining already, we will be there in a couple of hours."

Kakashi whispers before looking away from his book and towards the blonde boy causing Mina to follow his gaze.

Her facial expressions showed loads of emotions. Some of which kakashi couldn't explain considering he had been a man and men usually don't know how to read women very well.

Of course it peaked his interest to know what had been on the mysterious woman's mind, but being the sensitive man he was, kakashi decides to ignore temptation of digging into her mind by asking questions.

"WEVE been walking for four hours, can we at least take a break to eat?!"

Naruto whines before moving his gaze towards the dirt ground in front of him cautiously kicking small pebbles across the ground as he walked.

"We need to get finished with this mission in less than a day."

Kakashi closes his visible eye before speaking

"We cannot afford to take a break."

He sighs before turning his glance back towards the small orange book held in his right hand.

He hated telling naruto no when it came to food, but it was the truth. They couldn't afford to stop and eat as close as they had been to the deadline of their mission. Kakashi already knew telling the blonde boy no about filling his growling stomach had been a mistake. Despite this there had been no other way around it.

"Oh COMMON sensei—"

"I agree with naruto, we need to rest. There's no since In going into enemy territory on an empty stomach."

Mina interrupts, causing naruto to instantly move his gaze towards her direction.

"SEE!! The pretty girl agrees, we should stop!"

Naruto chirps before balling both of his hands into small fists as a large please smile makes its way across his lips.

Kakashi sighs,

He couldn't believe that she had been willing to disobey orders that the lord hokage himself had given them before they left.

Despite this, he knew that his odds of winning this argument not only with Naruto but with Mina as well, had grown slim. He hated to admit it, but his stomach had betrayed him as well, he had honestly been pretty hungry.

"Fine. A small break." Kakashi sighs instantly regretting his decision.

"YAHOOOOOO!!!!"

Naruto begins dancing around the group of ninja, his eyes practically squinted shut thanks to the large smile that had been stretched across his face. Kakashi had sworn that he had never seen a kid smile as widely as Naruto did when any one mentioned food.

He shakes his head honestly embarrassed of his students actions.

"Alright, lets set up."

Kakashi sighs, setting his bag onto the ground.

"ITS TIME TO EATTTT!!"

Naruto bellows out loudly enough to cause kakashi to jump in his skin

The silver haired jonin had sworn that it they had already been in enemy territory, they would certainly have their cover blown.

"Okay naruto, calm down."

He whispers before letting a small smile stretch over his covered lips.

"Now can you pull yourself together well enough to set everything out naruto?"

"OF COURSE I CAN, BELIEVE IT!"

kakashi looks over the blonde headed boy, rolling his eyes silently before looking towards sasuke and Sakura.

"sakura, sasuke, you both gather sticks and get the fire going."

they both nod their heads before walking towards trees.

"and what will i do?"

mina looks over kakashi quietly, her gaze makes kakashi grow stiff for a moment.

"er..um.. you can go with me to get the water if you'd like.."
