The Silent Treatment

YOUR POV:

For the last few days I haven't visited the bathrooms. I didn't want to look at Hanako. It was lunchtime and I met Yashiro outside her classroom. She waved at me and we headed towards the courtyard to eat lunch.

"Hey,Y/N?" I open my bento"yea?" I asked"have you spoken to Hanako recently?" I shake my head"did he ask about me?" She nods"yea...he did." I nod"when did you talk to him?" I asked"yesterday,after school. I wanted to ask about something but he only talked about you not coming to see him. Why is that?"

I sigh"remember during the Misaki Stair's incident?" She nods"well,when we were falling I told him I'd never talk to him again." Her hues widen a little"and you are taking that seriously?!" I shrug"a little." She gives me a confused look"there is another reason...when we left he got really close to you and...that made me upset."

Her cheek flushed a little"ah! Y/N! I'd never steal your man! You know that!" I blushed a little and roll my eyes"you really should go see him though. I bet he's a mess without you." I shake my head"honey,if you really think you can keep this up we both know you can't. Y/N,I know you better than you know yourself." I shyly look down"when we said we were no longer talking to each other,about 4 days later you said sorry."

She sighs"I know it's killing you that you can't talk to him. Or so you believe you can't." I groan"if I talk to him will you shut up?" She nods while looking slightly offended"fine." She smiles"great!"

Time skip

"Why are you ignoring me Y/N?" Hanako asks his arms crossed,a pout on his face. "Just know I'm not doing this because I want to. I'm doing it because Yashiro forced me to." I sigh"the Misaki Stairs. You pushed both of us down to the bottom of the floor,I told you...even though I don't think you heard me-I was never talking to you again."

I hear him laugh a little"all because I pushed you?" I glare at the boy"that's a dumb reason." I shake my head"but,when we returned you seemed to be all over Yashiro..."I trail off.

It was silent between us until Hanako finally said something.

"So you were jealous~?" He purrs as I felt blush run today my face"n-no! Thats s-stupid!" He laughs a little"it's ok-"I felt him put his hand on my shoulder"I like you to." If my face wasn't hot before,it's hotter now.

"R-Really?" I stutter out spinning around to look at the boy"hahah! No!"

I was speechless.

I should've known the boy was lying but I felt myself die inside a little. His laughter was what hurt me the most,I wasn't one to get emotional-ok that was lie. But,at least I thought I'd never cry over a ghost.

"Y/N?" My name echoed it seemed,I felt a tear fall down my face. "H-Hey! I-I was j-joking!" He stutters in a panic"I was lying! I was lying! Please,I take back what I said!"

He grabbed my face and forced me to look at him"stop crying. It's making you look weak. If the other school mysteries find out about this,you'll become the target for everything."

He wasn't lying about that statement. The weak ones are always the easiest to target or so I've heard.

I stifle a shallow laugh and take his hands off my cheeks. "I'm ok. Thank you." He blinks"you do realize that I was joking. I don't like you." I nod shyly"yea I know."

Silence.

"I hope we can still be friends." He says as I nod again"me to. Let's forget this happened,yea?" I see him give me a closed eye smile"but of course! Starting tomorrow,none of this happened."

I finally ended up leaving. I waved goodbye to Hanako and left.

Hanako's POV(don't expect these often):

I grabbed Y/N's face and forced her to look at me. "stop crying. It's making you look weak. If the other school mysteries find out about this,you'll become the target for everything."

She stifle's a shallow laugh and takes my hands off hercheeks. "I'm ok. Thank you." I blink"you do realize that I was joking. I don't like you." She nods shyly"yea I know."

Silence.

"I hope we can still be friends." I say as she nods again"me to. Let's forget this happened,yea?" I give her a closed eye smile"but of course! Starting tomorrow,none of this happened."

Y/N finally ended up leaving. She waved goodbye to me and left.

The door shut tightly and I sighed and heard a voice behind me. "You should've told her how you feel." I spun around to see the Mokke's"and why does it bother you if I lie to her?" I asked annoyed a little"cuz you broke her heart." I shake my head"she said that we'd forget this ever happened."

"But she was lying." I groaned a little"and how do you know this?! Huh?!" I was a little mad at this point"we've been around a lot longer than you Amane. We know how everyone feels when effected my something."

I was taken back by the Mokke's calling me by that name. "You...you don't know anything." I cross my arms"and those donuts she made. Was her trying to tell you she liked you." I shake my head"doubt that." I groan and float out the door and go over to the main building.

I leaned against the railing and watched as people exited school or headed towards their clubs.

"Maybe I should've told her..."
