Born with incredibly sharp nails wasn't my fault, but cutting them were extremely hard. It was the mid holidays at the peak of spring, and my mum was off to work.
6am. I decided to take a long walk near the area, hopefully I could get my mind off the worries in my life. After all, it seemed relaxing and calm. I glanced at my nails. "Pfft. Claws. They look nothing like it." I tried to be positive about my nails for once. My face tasted the wonderful morning breeze as the wind blows slightly at me. Calm. Relaxing. No worries. I then walked into a fast jog. I felt a vibration in my pocket, my Phone.
Hi! This is Kati!" I heard my fellow friends' voice from the phone as I ignored it, still jogging.
"If you get this message, can you meet me up at the playground near your-" I picked up my phone finally.
"Okay. I'll meet you there!" We had a conversation and I agreed to jog there. I didn't really know why she wants me to meet her there, but I just started jogging.
A couple of people Walked past me as I jogged, but one person stood out the most for me. A lady wearing a hoodie with strange claws and Furry arms. Claws. Fur. Is she even a human? I stopped and turned around. She took her hoodie off and I saw the most shocking thing. Her ears were pointy and they stuck on the top of her head, all furry. She looked like a fox, maybe head accessories? She pulled up her sleeves and I saw a lot of fur, even on her legs. I thought it wasn't normal seeing a woman like this.
I turned back and continued jogging to meet Kati.
My mind was filled with so many thoughts. A bicyclist came from behind and there was no ring, no alert. I wasn't cautious about it either. The bicycle moved behind me and purposely bumped into me, leading me falling to the floor, hands first.
My nails dug into the ground hard and it cracked like thin ice.
'ouch! Some people don't show respect these days...' I struggled to stand up, but I never heard an apology from the person passing by.
Nails. cracked.
My nails looked dirty and broken, it started bleeding from my skin. I ignored it without tears or expression and continued walking. After a while of distraction, looking at how dirty they were, I polished them off fast and made sure there wasn't a speck of it on my nails before Kati sees it. 'I bet my mother would get angry at me for returning with nails like this! At least they are short, and the kids won't find any rude comments to make about my nails now..' I felt relieved, yet worried.
It was time i reached the playground seeing Kati waving at me from the monkey bars.
