~Chapter 10: Disguise~
I had to find my way out... but how?
Any second I could meet Kati... what will she think of me?
I sprinted in a hurry, still cautious of my back wound...
I could never of imagine Kati's face, seeing a big, furry were-wolf 'shape-shifter' in front of her.
Although her strange philotherianism will probably ignore the fact I'm like this anyway, no one can tell how much her love for animals has changed throughout her whole life, really.
Foxes, Wolves, Dogs, Cats..just name them and she'll write an entire paragraph about it.
In that case, I shouldn't be afraid of showing myself to Kati, at all.
More tunnels to cross.
As I recalled the time I fleed from the wolves, I started remembering the fur fallen from the wolves, scattered and all.
It would be surely possible to encounter wolves, whichever path I take, whichever choice I make...
All that mattered to me was to get out of here and avoid anyone that stops me.
I spotted a pile of fur scattered into the tunnel I first saw on my left, "Looks like something happened here..."
I took silent steps, feeling the fur on my back grow which made my body feel sweaty.
"Kati...? Kati!
Where are you?
It's me, Carina!"
All I heard were distant echoes reflecting my voice over and over again...
-
KATI'S POV:
"Wolves?"
I looked through one of Carina's notebooks she brought with her in her bag.
Drawing of wolves, plants everything.
From the day I told her myths about wolves, she wouldn't keep her mouth shut...
"Carinaaa!"
I CONTINUED yelling through the tunnels, hoping for Carina to be near.
"CARINA?"
I heard a familiar voice respond back....
"Kati is that you...?"
Fainted voices was all I heard.
I had no time to gaze, I ran to the direction where my ears heard them.
-
As I heard a familiar voice trailing at the end of the tunnel, I suddenly lost my balance, remembering I was a were-wolf that had very strange feet. It took me a while to get used to it, but it was a terrible pain in the back.
Claws. Not nails this time..
The blood from my claws hadn't disappeared and still felt fresh and shiny.
"Oh why did I fight back...."
My body felt light and my ears flopped down on my face.
"Carina? Where are you?..."
"Was that... Kati?"
My eyes went from narrowed to shut.
It's been almost 3 hours....
I couldn't believe i wasted just 3 hours on all this trouble...
Home. Parents. Morning
The words engaged my head, I was missing them.
