I feel warm and slightly blinded as I wake up. My eyes struggle to open for the sun is so bright as it infiltrates my room. It's as if my mattress has turned to rocks, my hand moving towards my table. But I don't reach it. I'm on a floor.

I move my other hand and feel long curly hair brushing my fingers. Opening my eyes wide, I see Marie on my side, holding onto me. A blanket has been draped over us and I see the clock on the wall. It's mid-day and I don't even remember falling asleep.

But one thing shocks me more. I've actually slept.

Marie's fingers are loosely fisting my Henley, her head resting on my shoulder. Her comfortable position resumes as I watch her sleep. Her sleeping face is one I adore. She's unreal. We're perfectly entwined at the moment and her warmth led me to sleep soundly. It's never happened before.

"Marie," I whisper, brushing her hair behind her ear. Her cheek is so soft.

"Hmm?" she hums, moving to look up at me in a hazy gaze.

"I have to go to work," I tell her, her body moving up. I sit up and she grabs my hands, inching her way into my lap again. As she embraces me in a hug, I hold onto her and relish her feeling. This feels so right.

"I'll see you soon," she whispers, smiling at me as I hug her again after walking to the door.

"I'll see you later," I grin, kissing her cheek lightly.

I walk out the door and make my way to my house to quickly get ready for work. Upon entering work, the ladies and I bake muffins and cookies. I burn my fingers and Barbara aids my finger, laughing at how stupid I was. It's nothing horrible but she finds it quite funny a grown man burned his finger.

After work, I'm sitting at home and watching TV. My journal sits on my lap, writing words to a song I've been working on. It's inspired by my growing affection towards Marie, her eyes seen every time I close my eyes.

As I sit, I begin to wonder about everything she's been through and I want nothing more than to be a safe haven for the beautiful girl. She's slowly becoming my first priority and I need her to trust me more than anything.

I hear my phone ring and I grab it off the table, answering it on the second ring.

"Hello?" I ask, awaiting the person.

"Haz?"

My heart drops and I nearly drop the phone, my skin paling.

"Gem?" I ask, her sigh heard over the phone.

"Harry, I miss you so much," she starts to cry, my hand running over my face.

"Where have you been?! You left us!" I yell, her sobs heard.

"I did this for myself. They loved you and disregarded me so I left! Don't yell at me!" she tries, my head shaking.

"You know Dad's gone?! He's fucking dead and you didn't even show up to the funeral! I can't talk to you right now!" I yell, angry and pissed off.

She tries to reason but I hang up, throwing my phone on the couch and grabbing the lamp. I throw it at the wall and yell, angry and upset. She can't call me and tell me she misses me. Gemma left me and my mum to fend for ourselves while my father was on his death bed.

"Fuck!" I yell, throwing everything I own at the wall. Someone pounds at my door and I open it, Roxie yelling at me.

"Get the fuck out of my house!" I yell, expressing my anger towards an innocent person. She nods and closes the unlocked door, my hand throwing a mug at the wall.
