I hadn't realized that I stayed in the lounge the whole day until the men with the weapons told us its time to go back to our cages. But before we did, one kid ran out behind the men. The kid started to run down the hallway looking frantically left and right. Seemed like she was trying to find a way out. Then, more men appeared before the kid.The kid then shot a bolt of electricity at one man. The man fell. She shot another and another until one man shot her and she fell down instantly. She was then taken in handcuffs and was sent back to her cage. One of the men told us that everything was okay, and that she just gotten sick. Gotten sick? What did that mean, I thought. I didn't think too much about it and started to my cage. I started to look around more and then my head started to hurt badly. I fell down and tried to get back up. I started to look around and it was weird. It was like my eyes saw everything. It was like, no wall could hide from my eyesight. Soon, it stopped. I got up. One of the men came to see what was wrong. I told him I was okay and was just dizzy a little. I then entered my cage. The men locked the door and left. I went to the bed that was laid out to the right on the floor. I lay sat on it for a while. Then i got cozy under the sheets and drifted away.

I felt liquid land on me. It was freezing. Then I opened my eyes to see Derrick with an empty bucket that was above my head.

"Rise and shine sleepy head!" said Derrick. " The guards opened our cells already. I came to wake you up so you could get a taste of the best time for breakfast."

"What?" I said. Then i noticed I haven't eaten anything yesterday. Not happening today.

"Well, if you wake up early, the best breakfast pouches are given out first. Then the other pouches are just plain bad. I learned that on my first week here."

"Thanks." I said.

"No problem." answered Derrick. "C'mon! Get up."

After Derrick got me out of bed, we walked down the hallway to the lounge. There were few people there. I only knew some I met yesterday. Everyone was at a table eating and having conversations with one another. I went in the line to get breakfast. When I got to the front, the guards gave me a breakfast pouch. It was basically a bag with eggs and bacon some juice, bread, a plastic tray, ketchup, and some utensils. Each of the items was in their own bag inside the pouch. Except the plastic tray. When I got my breakfast I looked around to find Derrick. I found him but I also found the kid who attacked the men yesterday. Instead of going to sit with Derrick, I went to sit with the kid. I went to her, then sat down next to her.

"Hi. I'm Cassie. Can I ask you a question?" I asked.

She said nothing.

"I'll take that as a yes. I wanted to ask you why you tried to attack the men. It seemed like you were trying to leave." I said. "Why would you want to?"

She looked at me. She then grabbed my neck so quick I didn't see her do it. She started touching it until she stopped. She looked at me once more than looked away.

"Do you remember anything?" she asked.

"Yes. But only the things that happened here." I answered

"What about outside of here. Aren't you ever curious what might be out there. Or why we are stuck here? Ever wonder if this is not where we are supposed to be?" she asked.

"No. Not really. But, I think they're doing it for a good cause." I said

"Are they?" she answered. Soon after, she got up and left.

I sat there alone for a while thinking of what she said. Soon, I got up and went to sit with Derrick and the others. While we were talking, I let my thoughts out.

"Derrick, why are we here?"

"I don't know. I guess we are just here." answered Derrick.

"What do you think outside could be like?" I asked.

"Maybe, green. With lots of food. Pizza trees, ice cream mountains, stores filled with entertainment, and lots of other kids like us." he said.

"Yeah, that would be cool."

I then sat by myself thinking of what the outside world might be like.

"Maybe, it would have mountains made of rubber bands." I said.

"That would be cool."
