CHAPTER 3

  The next day I woke up as early as possible. I exited my cage and started to look around. I went to the area where all the other cages were located and all of them seemed closed. To my surprise, I was the first one awake. Or so I thought. I soon noticed one cage was open. I was the second one awake. I went down the hall to the lounge doors where two men were standing in front of. I reached the doors and they opened it for me. I went inside and I saw electricity everywhere. It was all around me. Suddenly, the electricity stopped. I saw the girl I talked to yesterday.

"Good morning!" I said.

"How do you know its morning?"

"I..don't." I responded.

"Exactly." she said. "It could be any time of day."

"Can you turn yourself into electricity?" I asked.

"No. I just have super speed. When ever I do something really fast, lightning appears." she answered.

"Cool." I said.

"What can you do?" she asked.

"I don't actually know what I can do yet." I said. " I hope its something cool."

"So, your the only one here with no abilities for the moment?" she asked.

"Yeah, I am." I said. " Hey, I noticed that we don't know each others names. Well, you know mine, i just don't know yours."

"I'm Phoenix." she said.

"Cool." I said. "About that talk we had yesterday, I thought about it and what if something bad happened outside of here, and the people cared about us and sent us to live here, and to help us."

"Well, what if something bad happened out there, and they captured us to use us?" said Phoenix.

"Hmm...never thought about it that way." I said.

"I wanna show you something. Tonight, stay up. I'll come by your cell and take you somewhere." said Phoenix.

"Where?" I asked.

"You'll see." said Phoenix.

"And how will you get me out of my cell?" I asked.

"You'll see." she said.

"What if we get in trouble? What if they kick us out?" I asked.

"They won't. Stop worrying." said Phoenix. "You'll be okay."

"Ok." I said.
