Hello Darkness, A New Years Day Fanfic

Part 4- 24 hour diners at 1 am

Nikki's POV

I 'woke up', but in reality, I was still dazed. Ali asked something about Ash smacking me, and now Ashely was stroking my face. My vision came to focus and my senses returned to normal in the matter of minutes. Ash was pretty sober, and decided to stay that way. "Guys, keep Nikki on watch all night," Ash instructed my felllow band members when she thought I wasnt listening. Sighing, I wished my friends didn't need to be on watch. They had lives, too. But I knew they did. That flashback always intensified my suicidal tendencies.

We were driving home, all of us plus Ali crammed into a van, when Ash spoke up. "So, um, guys..." she looked at Nick. "Should we...?" He blushed like crazy and looked nervous. Nick never looked flustered. "I dunno. Actually, let's get our drunk asses into a diner and tell them there." Ash nodded. Ali looked at me, confused. I just shrugged, smiling. Ash pulled over to a random 24-hour diner, and we all walked in.

A pretty enough blondie came to serve us. She looked a little scared, wondering what 7 scary band members and friends were doing in her diner at 1 am. "Are you gonna rob us?" she squeaked meekly. That caused all 7 of us to laugh really loud and hear Ash say, "No, unless a table for 7 is robbing you." She flashed her smile and the waitress loosened up. I don't know what it was about that smile, but everyone loved it.

Blondie led us to a big table and gave us menus. We'd already eaten, so we each got a milkshake or dessert or something. "So..." Ali blurted out randomly, "why are we here, again?" Nick gave Ash a weird ass look, and Ash sighed. "Well," she began, "um..." She looked hopefully at Nick, but Nick just shook his head defiantly. She rolled her eyes just as Blondie walked up with our food. She handed out our food and walked away. Ali gave Ash a death glare, whilst tappng her foot and slurping her milkshake impatiently. Her little angry face was adorable.

Ash began by taking a random ring off her middle finger, and putting it on her ring finger. Nobody but Ali noticed at first. She gasped and smiled really big, but the boys were still confused. Ash blushed and twisted the ring gently. Then Anthony exclaimed, "Oh. Oh. OHHHH. I see now." The rest of us were lost, still. Anthony and Ali exchanged these looks like, those idiots. And then I caught on. "Should I tell them?" I asked Anthony and Ali. They nodded. I turned to the other two. "They're getting married, dummies," I laughed. Jake and Tyler laughed. "Congratulations," Jake laughed, "shoulda known," he shook his head.

Ali looked off in the distance wistfully. "I'm gonna marry someone someday," she murmured. Ash gave me a look, which just caused a tear to roll down my cheek. Ali turned around and wiped it off, then kissed me, randomly. She turned back around and just sipped her milkshake, leaving me flabbergasted. Ash laughed really hard, and Nick smiled. "Lets go," Jake suggested, "finish up, guys. I'm tired." We all finished up, paid, and hopped back in the car. Ali put her head on my shoulder. "Goodnight, Misery," she yawned, and fell asleep.
