Chapter 5
Stephanie's Point of View
"Gale? why did you say that for? you know I'm scared of them." I look at him as he gets his bow. he sits down on the couch with his arrows and sharpens them with a hunting knife. "Stephanie I know your scared of them that's why I said that so that way you can face your fear." he looks at me then focuses on sharpening his arrows.
"Gale please come with me you know what happened that day on the playground. he could do the same to me...." before I could finish he sets down his bow and looks at me.
"look I know your scared but you have to face your fear like mom and dad did when they sacrificed for us and our safety alright?!" he yelled. I look at him shocked because that's the first time he ever raised his voice at me he's usually a quiet and caring brother and he would never raise his voice in till now.
I just look down hurt and get up "alright you know what at least I know over there they want to say they are sorry and would never do what you just did!!! maybe dad was right I should have went with my uncle Finnick instead of you!!!" I yelled at him then ran upstairs to my bedroom and slammed the door closed.
I sat on my bed and cried for 2 hours as I look at the clock and see it's 6:45pm. "I'm going and maybe I won't come back." I say to myself and I go downstairs and see it dark and I think to myself good Gale's out hunting for dinner I should be home in time. I walk out the door and lock it since he has a spear key to let himself in after hunting and I walk a couple houses down where Dean, Roman and Seth live. I open the gate and walk to the Infrount door and knock a little scared.
Roman answers the door and opens it "yeah?...oh hey Stephanie come on in Dean is sitting on the couch waiting for you." he says as he yawns. "o-o-o-ok" I studder as I walk in and see Dean asleep on the couch then Seth walks in and sits on a chair next to him as he puts whipped cream on Dean's hand and tickles him with a feather giggling. I growl and walk up to Seth and snarl at him "LEAVE HIM ALONE NOW!!" I yell at he looks at me surprised then stops as he sits down.
I look down and Roman hands me a wet towel as I clean Dean's hand as he sleeps. I really don't know where that came from but I hate seeing people being mean to each other. Dean wakes up startled. "I'm sorry Dean I d-d-didn't mean to yell at Seth." I whimper.
he just looks at me then gets up "what did he do exactly?" he asked tired. "w-w-well he was putting whipped cream in your hand and tickling you." I studder.
he growls at Seth and looks at me "well you excuse us a minute?" he says as he drags Seth out into the kitchen and I follow and hide behind a door listening to their conversation.
"you idiot you were not supposed to do that while she was here!!"
"well I was getting payback for earlier when you made fun of me Infrount of my friends!!"
"well at least I don't make myself look like an idiot!!"
"yes you do Dean and trust me she has no interest in you whatsoever!"
I hear Dean snarl as he pins Seth "what did you h
just say to me golden boy?!?"
I look inside and watch as I see Dean grow fur and sharp teeth almost like a wolf but werewolves don't exist.....do they? I keep watching and I see Seth slap Dean as he turns into a huge brown wolf snarling at Seth and Seth turns into a big gray wolf.
I back away shocked and I go back to the living room and sit on the couch as Roman goes into the kitchen and yells at them then a few minutes later Dean, Seth and Roman walk in and Dean sits next to me as I look down. "Stephanie are you ok?" he asked worried.
"yeah I'm alright." I say looking down trying not to sound scared. he looks at Roman and sighs "alright let's start the movie." Dean says to Roman as he puts in my favorite movie The Hunger Games Mockingjay. I watch the movie as Dean looks at Roman and he nods "steph I need to tell you something but don't get freaked out ok?" Dean says gently.
"alright what is it?" I ask. he looks down "we are really really sorry about how we have been treating you it's just hard to tell you the real reason why but I'm ready to tell you.....I-i-i...." he looks down. I look at him "you what Dean?"
"I love you." he finally says.
I look shocked as I look down to I had a secret of my own which was that I loved him to but I was scared and nervous to tell him. "I got something to tell you as well" I sigh.
"I love you too." I look at him as I say it letting him know I'm serious. he looks up at me and smiles. "really? you love me? after all we did to you?" he asked.
"yes. I was just scared to tell you because I didn't know how you would react and I was scared you would do what you did to that kid at the playground." I reply.
he looks hurt at first then hugs me. "I'm sorry he was just making fun of me and I was just trying to defend myself."
I felt bad and I hugged him back. "I'm here don't worry besides I'm mad at my brother because he yelled at me." he stops and looks at me.
"what did you just say?" he askes. "he yelled at me and he had his bow and arrows so that made me scared a little bit because when he gets mad like that he shoots his arrows at what ever made him mad." I reply.
he gets up and storms out the door mad
