I couldn't sleep. I was too excited about this trip. My brain keeping me awake. Bree on the other hand, is sound asleep. I don't think she had a good nights rest.

I looked at my phone, 5:49am. We've been in the car for a bit over 2 hours.

"I guess you're awake Harmony." I heard mum say.

"Well I wasn't really asleep." I said. "Too excited." I smiled.

"We only have 2 weeks until christmas. We will be in Darwin, almost entering Perth by then." Mum said.

"Where will we be for New Years?" I asked.

"Uh, possibly in Adelaide by then. How's Bree?"

"Asleep. I don't think she had a good night." I looked over to her, pulling up her blanket a little higher. Then returning to look out the window. Plugging in my ear phones I played Disconnected By 5 Seconds of Summer.

I watched the sun rise. Seeing it rise in the sky, and the sky turn blue. My stomach beginning to grumble. I clench it, hoping to muffle the sound. Mum and Bree began laughing. "I guess you're hungry!" Mum said. Bree nudged me a little. "Let's be really Australian and get some McDonald's for breakfast." Mum said over the walkie talkie to Pete and Mary's car. "Sounds like a plan." Mary replied. Siri on mum's phone told her about the up coming McDonalds on the left, 5km away.

We soon pulled up and got out. Mum brought my chair around. It's 6:53am and it's dead quiet. I tried to lift myself into my chair, but my arms collapsed under my weight. I took in a sharp breath as my body fell back onto the seat of the car. "Mum." I said softly. A tear dropping from my eye. She nodded and lifted me from the car, placing me carefully in the chair. Still in my jumper and shorts, she pushed me into the the building.

After getting a egg breakfast muffin and a small bottle of apple juice, I wheeled my self over to one of the tables and waited for everyone else to come over with their meals. I began to eat, my stomach grumbling even more.

"I guess you couldn't wait!" Bree laughed.

"Sorry!" I apologised before taking another bite. Mum, Mary and Pete join us and we all sit and eat. Mum handed me my medication to have with breakfast. I swallowed them before continuing with my food.

People slowly begin filtering in. It's just after 7:30am before we leave. Getting back in the car and heading on with our journey. Bree plugs in her phone to the car and begins playing music through the car speakers. I give her my phone to play around on.

"Harmony! Smile!" She laughs, holding my phone up high and taking some photos.

"Bree, I look horrible right now!" I laugh. "Braid my hair for me?" I asked. She obliged and brushed through my hair before braiding it. While she was doing my hair, I began putting on some make up, mascara and a little bit of eye liner, just so I look a bit presentable. I begin taking more photos as she is still braiding my hair. Pulling stupid faces the whole time. "This is why you're my best friend!" I laughed and took another one.

"Girls look! The New South Wales boarder!" Mum pointed out. I grabbed my phone and took a photo of it as we passed it. Uploading it to twitter. We're on our way!

"Sydney, here we come!" Bree yelled out the window.

We jammed out to the songs on Bree's phone until it was lunch. Bree slept some of the way, the car ride making her tired. I had to wake her though when we pulled up to a bakery for lunch. I got into my chair and wheeled myself to a park near the bakery to have lunch at.

Mum put a sausage roll in my hands, and gave me more medication for lunch. "Well it's 12pm now, we will probably get there in about 1 hour and 30 minutes roughly. Not long now kids!" Mum said. She smiled before pulling out her phone to take some photos of Bree and I. "Memories!" Mum said simply. We rolled our eyes at her before eating again.
