'I'm not coming back. I can't go back'
Rose removed the towel, wrapped around her hair, throwing it into the hamper that stood next to her. Sighing as she walked out of Annie's room, seeing Sadie sitting on the couch watching her TV.
"What's up, sweetheart?" Rose asks as she makes her way over sitting next to Sadie.
"Just taking advantage of having a day off of school and mom being at Aunt Beth's house," Sadie says, Rose giggled.
"Yeah. Well don't worry soon I'll be out of your and your mom's space." Rose said as she put her eyes on the TV.
"Aww really? I love having you here. Are you sure you can't just move in?" Sadie pleads. Rose turned to face the kid in front of her, sighing.
"I can't, sweetheart. First I need my own space and second, your mom's apartment is way too small for three people." Rose explains. Sadie sighed, Rose looked back at the TV as Sadie put her head on Rose's shoulder. Rose smiled at the act, gently putting her head on top of Sadie's. The two sat in silence, well except for the sound of the TV, the silence was soon disrupted by Rose's phone. "Shit." Rose cursed as she lifted her head, Sadie doing the same glancing at Rose as Rose got up from the couch. Taking a few steps to the kitchen, grabbing her phone seeing the contact name 'Mark'. Rose sighed as she picked up the phone pressing the answer button, holding her phone to her hear.
"Peaches, care to meet?" Mark asked Rose groaned at Mark's question.
"I told you to stop calling me peaches and yes I can. Where?" Rose asks as she started to Annie's room.
"The bar down the street from the old place," Mark says, Rose closed the door of Annie's room.
"Okay see you in twenty," Rose says and hangs up. Throwing her phone into Annie's bed. Rose walked over to her suitcase, looking through to find some clothes. It's not the perfect situation to be living with your best friend and her daughter, but it was only for a while so she was dealing with it. Throwing some clothes out and into the bed. Slipping out of her sweatpants and tanktop and slipping into some whit high waisted shorts and a gray sweater with heart patches in the elbows, the sweater was long like a dress on her so it covered the shorts. Then some black socks, grabbing her phone and reaching under the sweater and put her phone into the back pocket of her shorts. Walking out of the room and back to the living room, to where Sadie was now in the kitchen making herself some lunch. Walking over to the front door where some black ankle boots were laid. Stepping into the boots. "Sweetheart, I'll be back. If your mom gets back before me, tell her I went to go meet an old friend." Rose spoke.
"Okay," Sadie said from the kitchen. Rose grabbed her leather jacket and helmet, her keys still in her leather jacket. Rose opened the door and walked out.
***At the bar***
Rose stopped her motorcycle next to a beat-up old truck. Turning off the roaring motor, slipping her helmet off, putting the helmet on the left handle of the motorcycle. Rose fixed her leather jacket as she walked away from the bike and to the entrance of the bar. Taking a breath as she opened the door seeing Mark sitting at the bar enjoying a beer. Rose put on a small smile as she walked over to him.
"Peaches," Mark said when he saw her walking over. Getting up from the barstool to met her halfway. Opening his arms for a hug. Rose sighed as she hugged him. Hugging for a couple of seconds, Rose pulled away.
"Stop calling me that." She says as she walked over to the barstool where Mark sat, sitting next to it. Mark chuckled and sat down in the stool he was sitting in before. "So what did you want to talk about?" Rose asks as the bartender came over. Smiling at the bartender. "Can I get an old fashioned." She stated, the bartender smiled at her back and walked away. Running her hand through her red hair.
