How did she know my dad? She was an old lady while my dad was a pretty young guy. Well, she could have been one of his patients. After all, my dad worked with pretty old people and loved to talk to his patients. I really hope that she doesn't go to our field trip. Ms. Maria was my home room teacher as well, so her substitute would be my chaperone. We had our field trip in two days and I was excited to go. After all, it was a trip to see Waitress, one of my favorite musicals. Technically it was a trip to New York, but we could go to the zoo or see Waitress. I had a feeling she wasn't going to go seeing as she was eight and a half months pregnant, and the fact she got time off was understandable, but it still sucked. "Miss Green, could you please stop daydreaming? We need to start practicing." "Yes ma'am, sorry," I replied. She sucks. She definitely sucks.

I sat next to Carson, who gave me a apologetic smile. That kid was a goof. I mean, he was great, but being bullied sure did have an effect. I honestly can't even imagine him without me. Not to sound like I'm bragging, but I have to fend off the bullies for the two of us. Well, if bullies were all skinny white girls with "naturally blonde" hair. I just hope I can survive Ms. Meanie. This is gonna be a long week, especially if I have to deal with Ms. Meanie at chorus too. Oh wait, I do. That's one of my safe spaces, even if we have to wear super itchy dresses on stage. I sighed loudly and got my flute out of it's case.
